I would say only 3 states

Smoky's

Rocky's

Ozark's

Thats good enough for me, whatever they call those states

How about Crna Gora???;)

I realize this is subject to varied points of view, but perhaps there will be a consensus on a few states which are favorites for motorcycling in. Please explain WHY you think the states you chose are the best and include any EVIDENCE or PHOTO's to support your valued opinions!

Thanks! I'm lookng for a few new places to travel this springtime!

I vote against Illinois, Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa.

I think the 5 top states to motorcycle in are Montana, Vermont, Maine, Minnesota and New York.

I think the 5 lower states to motorcycle in are Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Florida and Louisiana.

To many to choose just 5 from. :confused24: I have been in every state all though not on the motorcycle. (But that is in the works.) They all have there good areas.

Around here > N/E Iowa is good, N/W Illinois is good, S/W Wisconsin is great (just about any road), :sign woo hoo: S/E Minnesota is good, and south central Missouri and on south or along any river road is great.

Some states may have good or great roads for 20 to 30 mile stretches then it's another 100 to 200 miles to the next good road. :bang head: That would be Iowa. :bawling:

But if you are on the motorcycle they are ALL GREAT!!! :thumbsup2:

This thread is to much pressure. I need a ride this weekend. Right after I plow the driveway.

That's why I asked the question! I am HANKERIN' to get on my bike and ride! The roads have too much salt on them for me to get it all over my bike! I may invest in a trailer to take my bike somewhere next year!

Hard argue with any of the above  ... especially since I put most of miles on in these states. Picking five states myself though, I'll keep Wisconsin on the list, but then ad Arkansas (NW corner), Missouri (pretty much anything south of I-44 all the way across the state), Tennessee, northern Georgia, and SW North Carolina.

Hawaii... Alaska, Tennesse, Kentucky, West Virgina

About time someone mentioned Alaska . Any road you get on is an adventure around any curve ! That Al-Can Highway is pretty awesome as well as the Prince George Hwy .

Michigan has some nice things to see, but the condition of our roads is horrible.

That and Michigan has three curvy roads and I been on all of them.

Hmmm, 5 states??

1. Euphoria

2. Relaxation

3. Pleasure

4. Adventure

5. Freedom

Oh, not mental states, physical states. Well, lemme see

North Carolina. Especially the western half. Lots of winding roads thru the mountains and many sights to see.

Arizona, the Grand Canyon State. Plenty of sightseeing to the north. Also pretty much all year long riding

California. From cities to wide open country, a great seaside ride, many points of interest

Massachusetts. Loaded with history and sights galore!

Arkansas. There isn't a bad road to take! Lots of winding roads!

It is very difficult to limit it to just 5. How about the top 10? Then I could add NY, Vermont, Tennessee, New Mexico and Oregon. After that Pennsylvania, Utah, Virginia, Ohio and Colorado followed by Missouri, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire and Maine, ete...

:rotf::rotf: Hey Brad, Contrary to popular belief Northern Ca is not a state....:rotf::rotf:

Dont say that to the guys that live up in those mtns :no-no-no: HWY 36 out of Red Bluff to the coast is one of the best roads I have ever been on :thumbsup2:

Only three votes for Utah! Wow, some of you are missing out. If you do make it out here, beware of Utah drivers. Most of them are from California. I know - I'm one of them.

Sure, it's a little chilly here in the wintertime, but we make up for it in the summer. At least that's what I tell myself all winter long. :cold:

The best states to ride in are NE Illinois and NW Indiana. You can take all those sunny, twisting two lanes that all seem to lead to Nirvana, but for my money, if you want a real thrill ride that will test your driving abilities, eye sight, reflex time, and sphincter muscle... well then there's no place like driving to or from Chicago to Gary along the Dan Ryan and Borman Expressways! For adding a degree of difficulty, do it 2-up hauling a trailer! :missingtooth:

Come on down to So Cal and you can ride year round on some of the best roads anywhere. You guy back east states are too small. So too may states to list five back there.

California

New Mexico

Montana

Colorado

Idaho

East coast up the mountain ranges

Mid west None

North east anywhere during your 2 week summer

Evidently non of you boys have ever been to New England :fireman:
Nope, I haven't. But the area's on my to-go list. If nothing else New England is on the way to Nova Scotia, which is near the top of that list.
