1300 seat on a 1200?

Does anyone have a clue if a seat from a 88 venture will fit an 84. Guy has one that he swears will fit my 1200 but I prefer a more dependable answer.

dont know if this helps but i put a 86 on my 84 and it fit? but i bought it off ebay and whos to say the guy didnt lie to me and send me another 84? i also was wondering if a false tank off a 86 would fit my 84? so maybe someone will pop in and let us both know?

I was looking for a seat a while back for my tattered seat on my '89. I found people saying the 1200 would fit just fine. The only issue was that the vinyl had different patterns from the MK1 to the MK2.

 

If you need a passenger backrest pad to match your MK2 seat, let me know... I may have one that isn't damaged (have to double check).

Yes they are the same except for the stitch pattern on the seat.

Thanks loads guys. I wantesd a backrest and this one has it.

The MKII seat will fit...snugly. The MKII passenger seat is wider. A MKI will fit any year. The back rests are designed for either the MKI or MKII. The Venture Line Rest looks the same but the brackets are different.

Hmmm...Maybe I should just be patient and watch for a stock MKI drivers backrest. Thanks for the info
