Well guess it is good you didn't want to go see it in the first place. Guess I need to go see it.

I didn't kick and scream, but Sci-Fi is not my cup of tea. That was an outstanding movie with a great plot. My first 3D IMAX also, and can't wait for the next one.

To show how interesting it was, there was a 10 year old boy sitting beside me that didn't say a word for 2:45 nor get up to use the bathroom. He was sooooooo into it!

I was impressed.

Saw it when it first came out and went back the next weekend to see it in 3D. Brenda got a great headache from the 3D stuff and I didn't particularly care for the dry eyes etc. either. Can't say it was worth the extra money to see it in 3D. Didn't see IMax though...

And aren't most all movies the same old sceme??

We went and seen AVITAR 3D and if you have not seen it GO. It is a real good movie and for 2 hrs and 40 min you are entertained. The 3D glasses fit right over Linda's glasses no problem................................Ron

I don't like going out to movies much, or watch them more than once, but went to see this one. I liked it a lot. We saw the regular one but will go back to see the 3D version. Rod

What in the world is so fantastic about this movie?? At the point at which you realize that this is the gist of the movie, this is what it's about, I found my jaw hanging open at the immense stupidity of what I was watching. I thought the 3D effect was kind of neat. But it actually made my wife sick, so sick that she left at one point thinking she was going to throw up. She came back in after a while and sat there with her eyes closed most of the time only listening. She couldn't watch it. I've never seen her motion sick before. Usually that happens to me. Our daughter was not feeling well afterwards because of it either. I would have walked out of this inane movie but there was no place to go and nothing else to do anywhere near this theater, and it was our daughter's pick, so I sat there and watched it with her. I dug in my pockets hoping for an old set of earplugs that I wear while motorcycling with no luck. What a horrendous colossal waste of time and money and gas to get there.

Well if ya try to make everyone happy, somebody isn't gonna like it.

It was the best movie I've ever seen. Aside from the original Star Wars trilogy anyway. The CG was done so well, you couldn't tell where it ended and the real stuff started. There has been a lot of controversy over the movie about what people think the movie implies. To them I say, "Grow up and get over your cheap selves"! But on the plus side, all that controversy is just helping the movie get more publicity and urging more people to go see it.

I'm not a movie watcher either and DID NOT want to go see this as I let everyone know at the M&E on Saturday, but I get my time the wife get's hers. I think I liked it more than she did. Movies are movies, just entertainment. You like some, you hate some. I wouldn't pay 10 cent to watch Star Wars or meet the cast. But that's my opinion.

Great movies and well worth my $27 for ticket's and $24 for snacks!

For me, what is fantastic about Avatar is the level of sophistication of the computer generated graphics which were so good it could have been real except for the obvious fantasy of the location and characters. The gist of the movie was twofold, a historical love story comparable to Smith and Pocahontas and a very realistic representation of the consequences of raw capitalism unleashed, also historic. Neither topics are particularly stupid. Both are very Human and have happened many times in the past, are happening today and no doubt will happen many more times in the future. They are both relevant and good topics to explore.

I thought the 3D was very cool never having seen it before. Some of the 3D trailers that ran in our theatre before Avatar were much more disturbing with arrows and swords poking out of the screen right at me which really made me jump. Definitely want to see more of it though.

Avatar has stunning visual effects. I found myself paying more attention to the 3D stuff(which BTW is everything). This isn't your ordinary run of the mill 3D movie where only parts are 3D and they jump out at you. This movie is entirely 3D from the opening credits through to the closing credits. It's like looking into a window.

I get motion sickness very easily if I am not in control. I can't ride in a car, I have to drive it. The only part in the movie that bothered me was when stuff would come from behind you and move out onto the screen. I found it hard to focus on those images. When the heavy action scenes were on screen everything was happening so fast you really don't notice the 3D effect as much. I never did get sick, and I was very worried about that, I get sick playing first person shooter games on the computer.

As for the plot..... Was there a plot? I was so amazed at the visuals, it was hard to follow the story sometimes.

To be honest this was Ferngully on acid. Same storyline for the most part, just AWESOME special effects.

So for story line, I give it a B- and Visual effects AAAA++++++ all the way.

I will see it again at the theater to see all the stuff I missed.

Until 3D TV comes out(which is later this year) you won't be able to see it 3D anywhere but the theater or IMAX. No IMAX around here or I would go there.

I suggest sitting near the back of the theater if you are prone to motion sickness, that way you can still see people in front of you. Kind of like if you are on a boat and get seasick, watch the horizon and it helps settle it down.

If you want to go and enjoy the 3D aspect sit about 8-12 rows back in the middle to get the whole effect.

Just went to see this movie tonight. It was our pick for valentines day. We were both awe struck. And as for the story line I gues Im a big old softy as a few times I caught myself shedding a tear or 2.

For me it would be worth it just for the scenery alone. I and my wife are big fans of mountain sceninc views. If youve seen the movie then I kneed not say any more.

Ive always thought my favorite movie ever was the lord of the ring trilogies but I do believe this on just topped it.

Wife and I went to see it at the Imax 3D, I havent been to a movie theater in many years. It was awesome, best movie experience I have ever seen. There were times I actually felt as though I was into or part off the movie. I think it is definetly worth seeing in Imax 3D. Craig

Saw it on Valentines day too in 3D (not IMAX). I was the only person in the theatre and this was at like 6:30 pm. Made the experience better IMO w/ no one there. No one to distract me from watching it (talking, cell phones, etc...). I didn't get the feeling of things jumping out at you and such. Only one scene where I thought something coming out of the screen where a weapon was being moved from side to side in one of the battle sequences. I did think the subtitles were like floating in the air. Still got a 3d effect throughout the movie. It was pretty cool. Yes plot predictible, but didn't care. I was a good movie.

I saw it in IMAX 3D. Thought the effects were great, the story was not great but good...but towards the end, my chest was very uncomfortable from the constant pounding of the 3D and probably the sound (it was overly loud). It took 30 minutes after the movie for my chest to settle down, even after a smoke.

Oh, we were in the fourth row.

I loved it and my wife was going stir crazy after the first hour went by.We watched it in 3D also and to me that is what did the trick for all the special effects. Not one person has commented on the brilliant colors, like none other I have ever watched before.

If you can take sitting threw a 3 hour movie, then I highly recommend this as one of the most sophisticated special effects movies I have ever seen.:clap2:
