Bvinson Posted January 21, 2010 #2 Posted January 21, 2010 The group over at Ventures somehow got the new old stock from Roberts company after he passed. I contacted his son and wife a couple of years ago and was told that the patents for several of his accessories had been sold to a third party.

Bvinson Posted January 21, 2010 #4 Posted January 21, 2010 I hate to say but that is a good price. When I purchased mine 10 years ago it was almost double that. But I really had to have it:thumbsup2:
Sideoftheroad Posted January 21, 2010 #5 Posted January 21, 2010 patents huh. So probably not a good idea to try and copy it or at least don't get caught at it.
Hummingbird Posted January 21, 2010 #6 Posted January 21, 2010 I'm pretty sure you can copy any patent you want if it's for your own use. The real problem is when you try to sell or make money off that patent w/o proper authorization.
kantornado Posted January 21, 2010 #8 Posted January 21, 2010 I just sent Ken a e-mail and hope I can get one. I really want the tac mount on my tank and I will replace the other gauge with a clock. Thanks guys I really appreciate you finding this for me. I LOVE THIS PLACE............Ron

kantornado Posted January 22, 2010 #10 Posted January 22, 2010 Cougar I will do that of course (pics that is) I bought the gauge set from Ponch and it should be here today or tomorrow. Then hopefully I can get the gauge pod for the tank and I will be in heaven.LOL Thanks again for his info. I am so excited............Ron
Bvinson Posted January 22, 2010 #11 Posted January 22, 2010 (edited) Your Welcome Ron, Let us know when you have it all done and what you think about the set-up and all. and if there is any problems or changes that must be done. and post picture of course. Jeff This is a very easy install. The biggest deal is pulling the tank off and installing the sending unit that comes with the kit. From start to finish was about an hour. Fit and finish is great. The only issue is that the handle bars bump it on full lock turn to the left and right. Go to my gallery and take a look. If you want I can send better pic tonight when I get home. kantornado Posted January 22, 2010 #12 Posted January 22, 2010 Cougar and Bvinson I did not order one from Ken, he was asking 270 plus shipping and thats not a problem. But I do not know him and he will not use paypal. To ship someone I don't know $300.00 without a way to protect myself or him just is not in our best interest. I hope you all keep looking for me as I will keep looking myself. I do want one. I just received the kit from Ponch and it will be a great asset to the bike as well. ..................................Ron
JerryT Posted January 23, 2010 #13 Posted January 23, 2010 Ken must have changed and started using paypal. I just ordered one with the voltage / tack setup using paypal. I think he still has one left with tack / temp setup so if you are still interested you might email him again.
kantornado Posted January 26, 2010 #14 Posted January 26, 2010 (edited) Jerry Thanks for the update. I just fired Ken off a e-mail and hopefully I can get one. Thanks again.................................Ron Well Ken e-mailed me back and said he sold them. I will never understand people?? .......................Ron Edited January 26, 2010 by kantornado
