The 1460 is 5 inch screen which I like. Would rather have waterproof. But there is a differance in price if you can find them. Well my search indicates the price of the 665 is around $999.00 and the 1460's price is around $900, so if you want a waterproof model (Garmin 550) then it is in the same price range that you are already looking at..maybe even cheaper.. . The 5 inch screen on the 1460 is more appealing to me due to it being easier to read then a 4 inch screen. I use a plastic zip lock baggie and a potato chip bag spring clip to cover mine when it rains to make it water proof..and I am not the only one who does this am I Sleeperhawk. Then you can either get a waterproof mount from ram mounts (which are fairly cheap) or just buy the accidental damage protection (even cheaper) then you don't have to worry, gets wet, you get it replaced.
