1BigDog Posted January 17, 2010 #1 Posted January 17, 2010 Heading out with the bike to give those new knee deflectors a try. Its a frosty 70 out with the wind gusting to 25 mph. Should be a perfect test......Hope the ice cream dont melt too fast....
GuthDaddy17 Posted January 17, 2010 #3 Posted January 17, 2010 I have mine ordered...will ride today without. 67 degrees and sunny here in the CenTex!:dancefool:
Cougar Posted January 17, 2010 #4 Posted January 17, 2010 70? My Gawd. I wish it was 70 here. I am itching to ride! almost 36 today! still ICE all over though.
BuddyRich Posted January 18, 2010 #6 Posted January 18, 2010 He's speechless, :rotf: Best to try them at like 40 or 50 but your not suppose to see them kind of temps there are you ?
1BigDog Posted January 18, 2010 Author #7 Posted January 18, 2010 He's speechless, :rotf: Best to try them at like 40 or 50 but your not suppose to see them kind of temps there are you ? Sez who?? It was in the twenties for 2 weeks here..LOL. Actually it will be 44 when I leave for work on Tuesday morning. That may be a better test. So far they seem to work good. I felt way less air on my legs then before. Tuesday will be the real test though. Especially since my uniform pants are a tropical weight poly blend. I guess having these deflectors in combination with the larger fork deflectors and the lower fairing deflectors cut bake the wind dramatically. Add the wider Clearview shield and im as set as im gonna be.
Monsta Posted January 18, 2010 #8 Posted January 18, 2010 Guess I'm not too sure what these deflectors are. Can you post a picture?
BuddyRich Posted January 18, 2010 #9 Posted January 18, 2010 I don't think your gonna have much need for them. I mean what's the lowest temp you see ? 75 ? But if the wind blowing on your knees bothers you the they will work for you. CLICK HERE
Monsta Posted January 18, 2010 #10 Posted January 18, 2010 JUST what I've been looking for! I think maybe I talked to you about this a year or so ago. I don't want them for the wind but rather the rain. Do you think they would direct the rain away from my knees?
BuddyRich Posted January 18, 2010 #11 Posted January 18, 2010 The first guy to buy a set did so for that reason. He said they did. I have had mine since I got the bike so never rode in the rain without them.

I don't want them for the wind but rather the rain. Do you think they would direct the rain away from my knees? Just the way they are angled up I would say they would deflect a good portion of rain coming up from between the upper and lower fairing.
Zfrebird4 Posted January 19, 2010 #13 Posted January 19, 2010 ... our beautiful blue skies and sunshine I did 43 miles of a nice ride. More tomorrow, with sunshine, blue skies and in mid 50's. Hey, in CO it's all a survival game, and we usually win once a week! JackZ PS What I'll be riding when I am 100 and retired from my 86 VR! I'll be photoshoped on the motorcycle though, with Dan's permission, ... well unless I outlive him, ... doubtful, and besides, would not want that! JZ
1BigDog Posted January 20, 2010 Author #15 Posted January 20, 2010 It was 43 this am when I left for work. I noticed less buffeting on my legs now. Legs were still cold though. Those tropical weight (real thin) uniform pants dont do a thing for cold weather though. And yes, below 50 im freezing......so mock away!!
