So, I'm wondering... how many of you "south of the border" (or anywhere outside of Canada) are aware of the 2010 Winter Olympics here this year?

How did you hear about it?

Are you coming?

Does our advertising adequately promote it in your area?

I "know" this since maybe a Year ago ...

It's only adevrtised on our TV-Stations

I'm not going to be there, because of no Time, Money better spent else and TV-Coverage of most, if not any Sports Events is much better than actually being there. But i'm a Sports Freak and i'll be hanging in front of the TV from 6 p.m, to 6 a.m. local Time each Night ... Maybe I'm able to chat on VR.org during this Event. That usually isn't happening because of the Time Difference.

I live in the Salt Lake City area and with just have hosted the 2002 Winter Olympics and many of the US training facilities here, we are atuned to the Winter Olympics maybe more than others.

I've seen quite a few ads by the TV network talking about the Olympics being televised but I don't recall any ads by Vancouver BC promoting BC or their hosting. Maybe more as it gets closer or during the Olympics.

It's a great experience and an exciting time. We didn't have the chance to see any of the events live (lots of $$$) but we did go downtown a couple of times to the awards pavalion and just hang out outside the venue and listen to the presentations and music and still had a fun time.

I should clarify ... that Youtube is a new ad. I'm not sure who's responsible for promoting the Olympics outside the local area. I think this particular ad is more to promote BC in conjunction with the Olympics.

Here's the local newspaper blurb...

I've known about it for quite some time ( I do not recall how I initially heard about it being in Vancouver though...)... Vancouver is a great place to visit (and work) but I cannot imagine how much of a zoo it will be with all of the 'extra' people there for the Olympics... That said, I certainly will not be doing anything to get up there to see anything Olympics related. I am not one for big crowds of people either; so I'm weird like that.

Great pic Brian ... that area is known as Coal Harbour and is taken from the seawall along Stanley Park. To the right of the pic ... one of the buildings is where Nina works and I'm about 4 blocks away. It definately is a very vibrant and beautiful city but it's not without it's "big city troubles". One of the interesting and probably different things about Vancouver is it's diverse cultures. You can walk down the street and out of 100 people you pass, 5 of them might be caucasian...the rest are from almost every other country with the majority being Asian.
