Bert Buckley Posted January 14, 2010 #1 Posted January 14, 2010 Hi everyone I am looking for some advice and ideas. I would like to upgrade the sterio and speakers on my Venture. I have read some threads and I would like any or all opinions on what to do. I have XM and GPS mounted on the handle bar and hardwired. I would like any ideas you may have .Thank you very much. PS looking to do a lot changes this spring.
Mariner Fan Posted January 14, 2010 #2 Posted January 14, 2010 Bert, do you have a headset in your helmet? A good one is pretty good for stereo sound.
Bummer Posted January 14, 2010 #3 Posted January 14, 2010 First or Second Gen? I'm guessing RSV (Second), but I figured it would be best to ask.
Bert Buckley Posted January 15, 2010 Author #4 Posted January 15, 2010 Thanks for getting back to me. I have a second gen. 2001 Venture. I presently use a JM headset maybey be older i got it from ebay, I use ear buds most of the time to listen with though. The ear bud work along side of the headset (listen with buds, talk with headset). I am looking to maybe change the cassett player and speakers for somthing else. Maybe some unusual ideals would be a good fit.Thank you.
Bummer Posted January 17, 2010 #5 Posted January 17, 2010 Have you seen this thread? How about this one. There's also this thread about the Polk Audio speakers.

cb1313 Posted January 19, 2010 #7 Posted January 19, 2010 Bazooka audio sells a speaker and amp up grade for Ventures. cb
Freebird Posted January 19, 2010 #8 Posted January 19, 2010 There is a thread here somewhere where somebody tried that Bazooka system and the review wasn't very good. Do a search for Bazooka and you should find it. I've pretty much given up on getting great sound from the external speakers. I tried the Pioneer speakers and the Polk speakers and found both to be marginally better than the stock speakers. The best solution that I've found is the Edsets headsets. After trying about every other brand out there in high and low end models, I am finally pleased with the headsets now that I've gone to Edsets. I'm convinced that you can add amps or do whatever else you wish but the system will never sound great with the small speakers and there is just no good way to install larger ones. I went ahead and found the review on the Bazooka system. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=35681&highlight=bazooka
