to the unemployment line. :bawling:

The Company she worked for lost the contract so the new company came in and offered her a job but cut her hours big time. Also wanted her to start 2 hours earlier. We commute together and to a different city (40 miles return).

She is a hard worker so I am sure she will find something, hopefully soon.

She deserves some time off the way you work her to the bone. Let her rest a bit and then bring her out to the garage and show her what chrome looks like. After that give her the keys to the car, so that she can go job hunting,,,, but wait at least 'til morning eh?

That is realy a tuff break and I feel very sorry for her. However being the upstanding person you are I am sure you will make her time at home as comfortable and stress free as possible. I am sure she will find something shortly.

The "new company" just don't get it. If she has industry specific skills what do they think shes going to do? She well get hired by the competition and they will have to compete against her with their minimum wage low skilled (but low cost) workers.

Corporate America needs to wake up. Who do they think will bring in the dollars to pay all them million dollar execs if they continue to abuse the "working man"? They are also fostering the raise of unionized workers. I'm not talking about specific unions, I'm talking about European unions, where the entire work force population is covered by union laws.

Not saying this will work but....My son who, is a hard working aluminum welder, just got laid off.

He was told he would be re-hired when things picked up. A friend of his called his ex-employer and pretended to be interested in hiring him. They asked about reliability, work ethic etc. Seems his now not ex employer managed to find some work for him after all.

Thanks all and Vern and Carl she says she knows where the chrome is already. She has cleaned them both up before, besides they are hiding under a cover until spring.
