Wife and I went to the Yamaha shop yesterday cause I knew they had a Spyder RT in the showroom. My wife is one that "said" she would NEVER ride a motorcycle though she rides with me now. She backed that up with I will NEVER drive one......well now that's changed too. She sat on the Spyder RT (touring model) and said with the biggest grin on her face "I want one". I am so proud!!!!

If you have sat on the touring model, you should, they are VERY comfortable. 25K isn't in my budget right now, but when she finieshes nursing school, she's gonna get one. I also asked her about a Goldwing Trike and she said "No, it does't turn as many heads." I love my women and can't wait to look over at her on her new Spyder!

(She said she would "let" me ride it some"

I was one of those people that didn’t like the look until they came out with the Spyder RT. I sat on it at the bike show and it is very nice.

The Stallion is on special right now. You may want to check it out. A/C and heat and etc.

Although not sure if it's a trike or a 3 wheeled auto. :D

I would call that a car. Though the Spyder may be too. She has her heart set on it. Im glad, would love to see her have one!

Mechanic and I both sat on one at the Greenville MC show Saturday.

Felt like I was sitting on a Goldwing, but there is an aftermarket boards to replace the pegs.

The lighting was great and talk about loads of packing room. The trailor was very nice too.

Whole package about 30 grand, not sure if I can justify that kind of cost.

Oh, if we were millionares, I would have one in a heart beat. Mechanic really liked the looks of the machine, reminded her of autobots, she likes the movies.

Question, is it classed as an MC or can you drive it with a reg. driver's license?

Renne :puzzled:

It's classified as a 3 wheeler and in Ohio if you don't have a motorcycle endorsement you can get a 3 wheeler/trike endorsement.

I too have sat and looked at this machine...I liked it except for the leg posititioning...have ridden the spider and it goes like he!!...........:whistling: :fnd_(16):

VA is the same way. The driving test consist of stopping and parking between 2 cones. She would still have to take the motorcycle written test.

The more I think about it, the more I want to get "her" one. You'll NEVER catch me on th back of it, NEVER!

I have ridden and written about the Spyders before. Main thing that concerns me...$15,000 per cylinder (fully loaded) puts them beyond my purchasing desire.

At the International Motorcycle show this weekend in Greeville They had a pink and Silver on just for the ladies. It was even automatic. No gears to shift. My wife wants one now. I wouldn't be caught dead on a pink one. That is why she wants it

And if there's another women, closer to my age like your wife that you run into, single, happy, reasonably good looking, likes to ride Queen or UP, .... let me know. I'd move anywhere for that gift ... that looked like CO. LOL.

Seriously, congratulations on having such a great wife and a good life together!

I kinda figured that if I could afford the bike, I might as well afford the service. I'm no mechanic, so I'd have to pay reguardless. I was gonna let HER pay for it anyway, I mean she's the one gonna be the nurse. 5 hours of overtime a week won't hurt anyone! :)

Varies by state, in Florida you must have a motorcycle endorsement.
