Chaharly Posted January 9, 2010 #1 Posted January 9, 2010 Just thinking here, we should have a facebook page discuss below :cool18:
friesman Posted January 9, 2010 #2 Posted January 9, 2010 (edited) Well, we kinda are there already, but under a bit different name. try going to http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/group.php?gid=21338336667 or search for Yamaha Royal Star Venture and Tour Deluxe Fans and Owners to visit. I dont think Don was involved in setting it up but he does seem to pop in from time to time. Also, here is the page to the rally we put on at Nelson BC Canada, called Kruisn the Kootenays. Check out the pics and the fun. http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/pages/Kruisn-the-Kootenays-Motorcycle-Rally/180355652633 If anyone else knows of Facebook pages that might interest us it might be good to put a link in here too. Oh yeah, i think you have to be a Facebook member to visit, but what the heck its a free signup. Brian Edited January 9, 2010 by friesman
massey130 Posted January 9, 2010 #3 Posted January 9, 2010 if we had one, i would not visit. i have a facebook i barely keep up and 3 email address. i belong to this and 2 other forums. one i frequent and the other i pop in and out of a couple times a year. i go to the VR chat and usually no one is home. there are only so many waking hours in a day. i have to ride sometime.
RoadKill Posted January 9, 2010 #4 Posted January 9, 2010 I was thinking we need a facebook site also. I have found some of the members I know but it would be nice to have a presence if nothing other than to refer them to this site.
Freebird Posted January 9, 2010 #5 Posted January 9, 2010 I seldom go to my Facebook account. If I get an email that somebody that I know wants to be added, I'll click on it and approve them but that's about it. The first one linked above was not started by me but was started somewhat as our unofficial Facebook account I think. I would be glad for whoever started it to re-name it as VentureRiders if they so choose to do so.
Kregerdoodle Posted January 9, 2010 #6 Posted January 9, 2010 I went to the first link and it just brought up my home page...:confused24: Well, we kinda are there already, but under a bit different name. try going to http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/group.php?gid=21338336667 to visit. Except for nights when boys have ball games. Gotta do the dad thing you know...
kbran Posted January 9, 2010 #8 Posted January 9, 2010 Wow, 318 members, but I only recognize a few names. All I know is screen names from here. Did see a few familar faces like this fancy guy in a suit named Lewis and a gal with glasses on (cindy) and a nurse named Allen. But who were all these other people?
MidlifeVenture Posted January 9, 2010 #9 Posted January 9, 2010 http://www.facebook.com/sonnythemoney seems to be the creator but Dons name is linked to it as an officer and the contact is this website. So who is Sonny Rattan?

I did add the name of the Facebook page since i saw your post so you can search for it there. Brian

Sunman Posted January 10, 2010 #13 Posted January 10, 2010 http://www.facebook.com/sonnythemoney seems to be the creator but Dons name is linked to it as an officer and the contact is this website. So who is Sonny Rattan? I am Sonny Rattan. I have been a member of VR.org for quite a few years now. I ride a 2006 custom RSTD. I made the Yamaha Venture and RSTD facebook group quite a while ago. The goal of the facebook page, is two fold, first to give all Venture and RSTD riders and fans, a page and presence on facebook, and secondly to introduce them to this site. Believe it or not, there are many Venture and RSTD riders who don't know about this site. That is evident from the amount of people who find the facebook group, and show up here, or send me messages. I am glad to introduce them to the site, that has been such a great help to me. A separate facebook group for Venturerider.org, would only be found by people who alread knew about this site, my facebook group is about people who like the bikes first. It is a fan page of the bikes. I was asked to change the name of the group somehow, it is called "Yamaha Royal Star Venture and Tour Deluxe Fans, and Owners" Which I would assume would encompass all of you on facebook. I think the name is appropriate for what it is. Don is the admin of the group, I asked him about it before I did it. Not sure why anyone wants to change it.
Mariner Fan Posted January 10, 2010 #14 Posted January 10, 2010 Seems to be redundant. I do like that it brings attention to VentureRiders!
Freebird Posted January 10, 2010 #15 Posted January 10, 2010 Sunman, your explanation about the name is dead on. I hadn't thought of it that way. Good job.
