BigBoyinMS Posted January 7, 2010 #7 Posted January 7, 2010 I still have the VIN memorized of my '75 FXE that disappeared in Feb' 77. I passed the thief while he was riding it a few months later. The only reason he is still breathing is that I had to get turned around and I lost him in town. And the "deputy" that I was dealing with must have been working with the guy as worthless as he was.
GeorgeS Posted January 8, 2010 #8 Posted January 8, 2010 A fellow I worked with about 7 years had a dirt bike stolen from his apartment parking lot. around 1995. In 2002 he gets a letter from some police dept. in Oregon State somplace , saying they had his bike in a holding lot. It also stated that he had 3 days to pick it up, or start paying $ 75.00 a day storage. He went down a hauled it back to Seattle. It had been well taken care of and was in running condition. Other then a few minor repairs.
