I know there are post pertaining to cold solder joints in the tech library. Sounds like you might need to look into that. 1 st things 1st if you are leary of the battery, change it. Also clean ALL the connections very well, the ground cable connects down on the engine on the right side by the waterpump. These bikes are very picky electrically and corrosion can make things go stupid.

I'll try. :)

Are you talking about the one between the speedo and tach, or the suspension one on the right side of the fairing?

I never had any problems with the main unit on the dash, but I did have to resolder the connections on the CLASS board. I kept getting E1 on the display. I messed with it until it wouldn't come on at all, at which point I replaced the wires. The solder connections had broken loose from the board. If I'd have resoldered them all the first time around I probably wouldn't have had to replace the wires.

Now, if you're talking about the dash unit, I don't have a clue.

Good luck.

Looks like you have the same problem I have on my 92. The computer monitoring system (CMS) has gone south. As soon as it warms up I'm going to pull mine out and see if it has a cracked board or a bad diode. This part cost $895 from Yamaha. $625 my cost at K&N here in Tulsa. There is a couple of instrument panels on e-bay so may have to just buy one of them. If you come up with a fix for yours please post it!!!
