JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Local family members were on the receiving end of a motorcyclist's road rage yesterday evening, but they managed to alert authorities, which led to an arrest, police said.

Kenneth Bruce was driving home with his wife and infant in the car around 7:30 p.m. Jan. 3, when the driver of a black Honda motorcycle became aggressive, according to a Jacksonville Sheriff's Office report.

Police said Paul Rieger Jr., 50, came speeding up behind the Bruce's car, pulled up next to it and tried forcing it off the road.

Bruce told police when he stopped at the stop sign at Eastport and Pulaski roads, Rieger began driving circles around the car, eventually stopping in front of their vehicle.

Rieger took off his helmet, ran to the driver's side door and tried to open it. When it wouldn't open, he began banging on the window, yelling at Bruce.

Bruce's wife called police.

They left the scene, driving around Rieger. Once again, Rieger began following them.

When they reached the intersection of Faye and Joel roads, Rieger turned and drove away, but not before Bruce was able to get a tag number and description.

Police ran the tag, and found that the motorcycle was registered to Rieger at his home. When police arrived there, Rieger refused to answer any questions about the incident and told police to leave. A struggle began between police and Rieger.

Police had to Taser Rieger twice. He was eventually arrested and charged with aggravated assault and resisting and officer.

It doesn't say, but I wonder if they had cut him off, or endangered him in some way earlier.

Or.....he may have just been a nutcase.

+1 yep, just what I was thinking. but with a baby in the car it was unintentional or didn't see him or miss judged distance. Some drivers are clueless and only care about themselves on the road.

I 'e'mailed the media and ask for a follow-up. Told them I would like his side of the story with a cc to VRO,,,let's see how slanted they are if at all.

You know, the cager probably left his gas cap sitting on the fuel pump at the last gas stop. Yeah...thats it. The 'nicest' person on the Honda was simply trying to graciously return the cagers property. Kids in the car, leaking gas, all of that. Circling the car, checking for fumes..yep...Seems entirely blown out of proportion to me.

This situations comes up quite often.

Even if the Car driver did somthing, when your on a bike, the car driver has the upper hand, ( and his other hand might have a gun it it )

Best, to just go on your way, and be glad you are still alive---
