FROG MAN Posted January 2, 2010 #1 Posted January 2, 2010 1:00 am in the morning I'm bringing MamaMo home from work cause it's snowing. We came upon a herd of deer in the road so I hit the brakes hard and nothing happened other then the pedal went clear to the floor. 2004 chevy silverado with 57,000 miles. Looks like I blew a line or something but I missed the steak so were Ok.2010 is starting out right like I always say Nothing $400 won't fix.
Dano Posted January 2, 2010 #2 Posted January 2, 2010 You're just getting it all out of the way early this year Gerald, good luck with the fix!
Yammer Dan Posted January 2, 2010 #4 Posted January 2, 2010 You got brakes you have to explain why you ran over the heighbors!!
Venturous Randy Posted January 2, 2010 #5 Posted January 2, 2010 Wow, I bet that woke you up. With that vehicle having two seperate braking systems, it surprises me that you did not at least have some brakes to pump up. You may be able to replace a brake line or two and have it fixed. But it does sound like you are starting out on a lucky note for 2010, as it could have been a lot worse. RandyA
FROG MAN Posted January 2, 2010 Author #6 Posted January 2, 2010 RandyA they will pump up a little but steady pressure takes them to the floor and the brake system warning light comes on. The fluid resevoir is low but still over half full with plenty covering the master cylinder. I'm thinking maybe bad master cylinder but I'll know tomorrow.
wes0778 Posted January 2, 2010 #7 Posted January 2, 2010 And are there new button holes in the seat covers...
Yammer Dan Posted January 2, 2010 #8 Posted January 2, 2010 I went and looked at the road. Figured there wasn't anything out there I needed that bad. It is slick. More snow coming tonight.
BuddyRich Posted January 2, 2010 #9 Posted January 2, 2010 Why would you want brakes where you live. I mean just as soon as you get to the bottom of the hill you have to go up the next one so might just as well keep you speed up. Sound like the master took a dump. If you blew a line you should still have had partial braking thur the other set.
