Freebird Posted January 1, 2010 #26 Posted January 1, 2010 Folks....this IS turning into a political thread and will be deleted VERY soon if it doesn't stop. Lewis, I am truly sorry to hear about this mess and hope it gets straightened out very soon. Our prayers are with you both. As for government run health care. Whether you are in favor or against, this is not the place to discuss it.
saddlebum Posted January 1, 2010 #27 Posted January 1, 2010 Sorry to hear that Lewis. Your former insurance should never have told you it would be ok. Whenever they change stuff you start all over with a new ins. policy. I know Jeff's insurance changes periodically. It's a big pain especially since Charlene was suppose to get surgery. Good luck and I'd give that HR person a reaming. They should have known what was coming. Margaret Unfortunatly even though upper level employees (VIP's) may know as much as a year in advance as to what is going on. Lower level staff are usually kept in the Dark until the 12th hour. Not that this helps any. I myself believe that once a decision has been made it should by law be honoured by what ever company takes over the policy. Otherwise employer's would just simply keep switch insurance company's or change policy plans when ever they feel like it in an attempt to cut expenses.
rumboogy Posted January 1, 2010 #28 Posted January 1, 2010 Don, I Apologize for my remarks...I work in the industry and it's difficult to keep my mouth shut...but I will...and you can delete my remarks now. I normally don't engage in political discussions on forums...and don't like it on my forums. Again, I apologize and it won't happen again. Wally
Freebird Posted January 1, 2010 #29 Posted January 1, 2010 I understand. It's difficult to keep quiet about things that we believe strongly in but we just ask that everybody try. Your participation here is truly appreciated. Even if you DID stir this one up a bit.
DragonRider Posted January 1, 2010 Author #30 Posted January 1, 2010 (edited) We didn't have enough time to go forward with that option, the call came at such a late hour that Emory Hosp. had already canceled the surgery for Monday morning, the Dr. didn't even know it was canceled as of noon Thursday, and that's when everyone was closing, so we were out of options. We are going to be on top of it Monday morning, me from work with our HR person and Charlene at home working the phones. Thanks for all your prayers and concern, I didn't want this to turn political, and hope it doesn't go that way. Charlene is handling it better now, but I am still fuming about it on the inside........... Lewis, I am sorry to hear this news, but like Beer30 said: set your terms on moving forward without delay. I personally would not reschedule and just press on with the arrangements already made. Once the new insurance company does their review it will all be covered anyway.. and most likely they would have it straightened out before you got the first bill.
