Freebird Posted December 29, 2009 #1 Posted December 29, 2009 Today I celebrate 15 years of marriage to my lovely wife Eileen. It seems like just yesterday that I discovered her standing in that pumpkin patch, barefoot, hair all tangled and wearing that home made feed sack dress. I remember how sorry I felt for her and though I knew that it would be a challenge, I just couldn't leave her in that predicament. So, like a knight in shining armor, I decided that I would make her my wife and just do the best I could with her. I'll admit that it wasn't an easy decision and that I didn't accept her proposal the first time she asked. But WOW...look at the fine lady that she has become because of my willingness to take such a chance. It has actually worked out quite well and she really cleaned up nicely. So....though "celebrate" is a stretch since I am, as usual, out of town...I just want to say that it has been a wonderful 15 years and I hope just the start of many more great years together. In all honesty, without her, I would be nothing. PS: If she were to just HAPPEN to read this....I just want her to know that I WILL find out who hacked into my account and wrote that first paragraph and they WILL be punished severely.
BoomerCPO Posted December 29, 2009 #4 Posted December 29, 2009 CONGRATS THERE DON!! SOUNDS LIKE YOU ARE TRULY BLESSED AND KNOW IT TOO!! BIG TOM Posted December 29, 2009 #7 Posted December 29, 2009 Now thats really odd, at MD your bride told Taters "SHE" found you in a pumpkin patch, barefoot ,with tangled hair and a dirty face....Hummm ...said she felt sorry for you, and against her Daddys wishes decided to marry you anyway......Hmmmn...how very odd indeed:whistling: Congratulations anyway !!!!
OutlawRider Posted December 29, 2009 #8 Posted December 29, 2009 Congradulations, Don and I hope there are many more for you, too. When we find that special one, our lifes always change for the better if we let them.
mini-muffin Posted December 29, 2009 #9 Posted December 29, 2009 Don Congrat's on the 15 yrs you are one lucky guy that Eileen decided to keep you. Now as for that first paragraph you really should hope she doesn't read that, don't think the someone hacked my account is gonna work. Hopefully you bought a really nice present, in which case I'm sure she might let that little paragraph slide. (for now anyway) Margaret
1BigDog Posted December 29, 2009 #10 Posted December 29, 2009 Hasent anyone noticed that he wrote this while out of town??? Just wait till you get home!! Congrats on 15 years of marriage. I also tell my wife just how lucky she is to have me....
RJD Posted December 30, 2009 #11 Posted December 30, 2009 as far as the message goes I will just screen print it and drop it off to her. I know you would like her to know your true feelings and I wouldn't mind helping you out. Bob
Guest Ken8143 Posted December 30, 2009 #13 Posted December 30, 2009 I don't know for sure, Don - but you may want to stay out of town for a few more days. She may have a few of her brothers from the same punkin patch waiting for you. I say this because my wife is country people. She has brothers. They have guns. I got reminded about that. Do I need to draw a picture to get the message across? Seriously, I have a great wife and great in-laws. Hurry on home to your sweetheart Don.
Poledar Posted December 30, 2009 #14 Posted December 30, 2009 Don, Congratulations, and if I may offer a suggestion? Don't EAT ANYTHING for the first few days after your trip!!! Take her out to eat every night to get her off the rat poison idea!!! Many more like the first 15 to you both!!! POLEDAR:banana:

Yammer Dan Posted December 30, 2009 #24 Posted December 30, 2009 Eileen take it easy on him. He must have hit his head in that fall. CONGRATS to Both of you!!
Marcarl Posted December 30, 2009 #25 Posted December 30, 2009 I hear that while you're away, there is a contractor working on the pool banks to make them slope a little more sharply, and something to do with the drive as well, seems too much snow gets piled up in the center so the sides are being moved out some. Anyways, just some grape vine news, and you know what part of the country that comes from. And CONGRATS on the the other thing. Don't know what all the hoopla is about, but I suppose we're all glad for you,,,,,, after all she a Grand Lady, and you is lucky,,, but thenso is she. God Bless you two, as He has in the past. Carl
