I googled how to split the fairing and one of the results was at "venturer.org" when I clicked on it my virus checker stopped me saying that entrance could damage my computer...what's the buzz?

that site has been doing that for quite some time.

WOW, you'd think they would be able to get a handle on it by now...guess they just don't have the professionals that run our site...thanks to all you folks that keep our computers running smoothly.:clap2::thumbsup2:

I got an email from them a couple of weeks ago and they said they are redoing the site. Apparantly some of the features like the ebay stream is leaving them vunerable to hacking and viruses. I hope they get it worked out, I like this site better, but there is a lot of good info on the other one too.

Been that way for MONTHS now and still NO FIX. :bang head: It irks me because I have met some of the guys there face-to-face this past year....PAID my $$$$ to join there too.

Hope the Admin there has a good time on my dime because I AM NEVER GOING BACK.

THEIR Virus infected my Computer and we had to wipe the Hard Drive slick and do a COMPLETE re-install of all programs.:mo money: It was a 4-5 hour job and NOT fun.

Boomer....who sez don't blame me fer being riled cuz I don't like folks who pee on my boots and then tell me its raining.

! agree with ya Boomer, as much as I hate to point fingers at someone else's misfortune, that issue has been going on since late summer. They cant seem to get it fixed so I posted that I was never going to renew because of it and all i got was excuses and flames.

THis site is the one I prefer by far but occasionally i would pop over and say hi, but not after the ongoing issues and what seems like a lack of concern about it.

So thanks to Freebird and the Mod (Squad) for all you do in keeping this site the best one anywhere!!!

I have not been on that site in years and for the last four months or so I was a paying member before I came here, I could not even get on there.

Count yer blessings. The last time I went there I caught a Virus that had my computer puking its guts out all over the floor.

Boomer.....who says don't blame me for saying Adios to a Site that just don't care about their PAYING Members.:bang head:

I hope they get it resolved. I know they must be pulling their hair out by now. I wouldn't wish that on anybody.

As for splitting the fairing. Here you go:

Don,

"Pulling ... hair out..." doesn't even come close.

Other than Boomer, I won't respond to the other comments...nothing that I can say that would make them feel better or worse. Now for Boomer...

Boomer, if our paths cross next year, whether it be at a Venturers or a VentureRider get together, I'll personally make sure you're taken care of. Maybe nothing more than a couple of beverages, but I'll take care of you. Or if our paths won't cross, I'm sure you'll run into one of the "frequent" travelers who have a strong presence on both sites....I'll send something along with one of them, as our paths typically cross fairly early in the year.

Think nothing of it Curt. I meet folks to ride and not collect any real or imagined debts. You owe me nothing Bro...except the opportunity to ride with you or stand next to you on the Flag Line of a Patriot Guard Mission.

Ride safe and be well Bro.:D

If you use IE you can go there.

Firefox remembers it as an attack site.

They do have it fixed. It might be that you

would have to clear your cache if using Firefox.

OR in that Browser lower the settings to get there.

They are now on a new server as well.

I have to open IE and I can go to the site now

with no problems. but I can not with Firefox.

I run both browsers.

IN FIREFOX

GO TO : TOOLS

Then : OPTIONS

Then : SECURITY

UNCHECK : Block Reported Attack Sites.

Now you can get onto that site.

With Internet Explorer there is no problem like I stated above.

I'm on IE 8.0.6 and still get A Malware Warning.

Warning - visiting this web site may harm your computer!

By unchecking Block Reported Attack Sites. in Firefox, does that open up my vulnerability.?

Just went on their site, 3 registered users and 6 guests online. Everybody must be here !!

First we'll hit the Leine Lodge .. the first couple of rounds are on them! Then we'll head to the Point, and get a couple free rounds there. Third, we'll switch over to the "grapes" ... I've got unlimited places in my neck of the woods where I can drink for free :)!

p.s. Cougar .. it's still broke. Marshall (ol' Hug Bear here) is working it along with the Webmaster. The 'can of worms' is more like a 'bed of snakes', so not much I can say or want to say about how long it's taking and why....host fixes something, hacker breaks it, etc, etc, etc. Move to "new" site supposed to be any day, but then again they've been telling us that for months now. Positive note for some (maybe some who haven't been back in a while) .. memberships will be extended for four months for those who want it (many have turned it down). Whether or not you care for the Venturers organization (or some of the people there), good people there just like here, a lot of very close friends and "family" (cliques went the way of the dinasaur many many moons ago) .. whoever the hacker is, he/she has done significant damage to the site, its membership, and the organization's viability as it enters its 10 Anniversary Year :(

p.s.s. I'm speaking for myself, not for the Venturers (Don can explain for those who might not understand) :)
