navydavy Posted December 18, 2009 #11 Posted December 18, 2009 Herb, that Snowball Express is a wonderful experience. We had the honor of having it hosted here in Southern California the past two years. I had my son with me both years, and my brother and one of his boys too. It is heart wrenching and uplifting at the same time to see those families, especially the kids, having such a good time. We were actually a bit bummed that it moved to Texas this year, but I guess we do need to share. And it looks like you folks did an outstanding job. The PGR here did do some escorts to airports when they departed and returned. Thanks for being a part of it.
Herb In Texas Posted December 18, 2009 Author #12 Posted December 18, 2009 Herb, that Snowball Express is a wonderful experience. We had the honor of having it hosted here in Southern California the past two years. I had my son with me both years, and my brother and one of his boys too. It is heart wrenching and uplifting at the same time to see those families, especially the kids, having such a good time. Your right it is heart wrenching and uplifting at the same time. Those young folks were all saying thanks to us, all I could do was hide my wet eyes and tell them thanks back. We owe these kids a debt we can never pay. rumor is they are coming back to texas next year. Don't know where but from Houston to Elpaso I will be there again. In my own insignificant way this is the one way I can help. Hope to see more of ya'll next year. I only saw two other Ventures the whole week. Well Flyoyd was there every day though so if you count the number of times I saw him Ventures were every where. After I posted the link I went to bed but could not go to sleep right away. I felt I posted a boast, but please don't look at it like that I wasn't boasting in as much as trying to get the word out about Snowball. Most of the people I have talked to at work asked "where were you last week?", they did not know, despite a good bit of media coverage, what Snowball was. Mabee this post will fly awhile and folks will feel the urge to donate to them or find another way to get involved. I know as for me without the PGR I too would have mabee never heard of them either. So PLEASE spread the word. Snowball Needs YOU. Thanks for the nice replys, Dawn and I wish each and everyone of you a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Prosperous New Year. Thanks again, Herb
