Chaharly Posted December 12, 2009 #1 Posted December 12, 2009 Well, its a snow day, i have a heated garage, and during the summer my friend hit a mailbox with the car i sold him. It shattered his window and left a pretty big dent in both him and the car. I was on my dads 05 GL 1800 when he called and told me, as soon as he told me he was bleeding, i new i needed to hurry. I got on the GL, and i tell you what, that is a quick bike!!! But i digress, we are going to pull the dent out of the side, with a kit, puddy it, sand the small parts and repaint the holes, we also have to do some work on the power window, the motor is still good, but the dent doesn't let it go down. One time though, we were driving around in the freezing cold and someone had pushed down on the window too long, we hit a bump and down came that new window! When were done with that, were going to pull the pipes off my 85, straight off from the catalitic converter, they are going back on though, i just want to hear that muscle car sound!
RedRider Posted December 12, 2009 #2 Posted December 12, 2009 Yup - me too. Cold and snowy here. Working on my son's '66 Rambler to finish patching the floor boards so I can get it out of the heated garage. That's where MY truck is supposed to go. RR
pegscraper Posted December 12, 2009 #3 Posted December 12, 2009 Bodywork is so fun. But it is nice to be able to do it. I'm currently working on restoring a '71 Mustang convertible in my unheated garage. It needs new floorpans, inner rockers, rear quarter skins and outer wheelhouses. Fun, fun.
Dano Posted December 12, 2009 #4 Posted December 12, 2009 Gonna finish up puttin' that 350 small block in my sons 79 Camaro this weekend, just gotta go to the junkyard and find a power steering bracket and bolts, finish hooking the headers up to the pipes, set timing and install the distributor then fire that puppy up!
bongobobny Posted December 12, 2009 #5 Posted December 12, 2009 Turned my garage into a mini machins shop and have my '84 VR in it to work on some more this winter. The cage sets outside...
oldgoat Posted December 12, 2009 #6 Posted December 12, 2009 tried to talk my brother inlaw into letting me work some on the venture. its in his garage. he said what you going to do with it. i said just install some plugs. check the carbs. and do some cosmetic work install the false tank. i got and figure out how to remove and replace the gauges. he said its cold as hell out there. and go see why you cant do it. i went out there and went oh ****. the garage is stuffed to the max. my 2 bikes in there. and he went and bought a damn quad. along witht he ridding lawnmower. and a damn plow for the quad. aint no room to do ****.. i need to find a nice heated garage to rent someday. but it is nice of him to let me store my bikes i guess. but im retired and bored as hell. i know i dont have a lift to do the tires rotors and brakes but gee. i could have at least spent a few hours if not days doing the stuff i can get to.
