V7Goose Posted December 9, 2009 #1 Posted December 9, 2009 (edited) OK, who wants to get together in the Dallas/Fort Worth area sometime in January to check float levels and/or valves? I already have one guy who is interested, but we have not set a date yet - if there are two or three others, maybe we can find a date that works for everyone? Let me know if you are interested, Goose Another offer: If you just want someone to do the work, instead of learning how to do it yourself, I'll do that too. I'll set floats and idle mixture for $150, valves for $300, or both together with new plugs for $375 (plus any parts needed, such as gaskets). Edited December 9, 2009 by V7Goose
Squidley Posted December 9, 2009 #2 Posted December 9, 2009 Get back from Vacation and your already going back to work....your a glutton for punishment. If nothing else and we can make it I'd love to come up and see you work
LilBeaver Posted December 9, 2009 #3 Posted December 9, 2009 I'm interested. BUT, our weather here is not quite as nice as DFW, so that is going to have to be a factor for whether I could make it or not. I don't know that I need my floats set (but based on what you have said Kent, they are probably way out of spec), but I'm due for a valve adjustment check. I definitely want to learn. I have rebuilt car motors, but have not torn into a bike before... I'll stay tuned for sure.
V7Goose Posted December 9, 2009 Author #4 Posted December 9, 2009 Man,I ain't back yet - gonna be sittin' here enjoying the cerveza and tequila until Monday! But thought I'd get the post started to see if there was any interest with enough advance notice to maybe actually plan a date instead of reacting. And you are more than welcome to join us, even if all ya wanna do is some bench racing and knock back a cool one or two. We have an open room - Hope to see ya, Goose
Jerry W Posted December 9, 2009 #5 Posted December 9, 2009 Would love to make it, but I already have committments for the entire month of January. If you do it again sometime, maybe I could make it. Even if the weather is bad in the panhandle, I have a trailer.
Eagle77 Posted December 9, 2009 #6 Posted December 9, 2009 I would certainly be interested in this. I would really like to learn more about my bike and learn to do this work but I might want you to do it this time with me assisting. In my past life I have done quite abit of work on bikes but that was in the 70's these are a lot different. Sounds like a fun day Gene
V7Goose Posted January 15, 2010 Author #7 Posted January 15, 2010 Alright all - I didn't see much interest in this when I first posted it, but the holidays are past now and we are going to be doing some work on bikes this Saturday (tomorrow, around noon), but mostly next Saturday 1/23. If you are interested you are welcome to come by too. Goose
