I say it goes to the front. My wife says which ever way she puts it on the roller, its right. My daughter says she doesn't care as long as she has TP to wipe her butt.

I even put them on the "right" way when i got to someone's house and they have them put on the "wrong" way.

if ever the TP was put on over the top at my brother's house his cat would unroll the entire roll , it doesn't roll back up as easy
