coldinnd Posted December 4, 2009 #1 Posted December 4, 2009 I have found a set of covers off of a 2002 at a reasonable price. My question is will they fit on my 1999?
Freebird Posted December 4, 2009 #2 Posted December 4, 2009 Yes, they are the same but what would be wrong with your old ones? Just curious. By the way, I don't know how the ones you found are priced but Pinwall Cycle usually has several sets listed on Ebay in their Ebay store if you want to compare prices.
coldinnd Posted December 4, 2009 Author #3 Posted December 4, 2009 Mine are the original silver but the previous owner painted them flat black which is starting to peel. And the black looks better on my bike (silver and platinum)?
Scooter Bob Posted December 4, 2009 #4 Posted December 4, 2009 SeGet a hold of EUSA1 on this site, he can do a diamond cut edge to them, really sharp!! Later, Scooter Bob
massey130 Posted December 4, 2009 #5 Posted December 4, 2009 i am assuming you want the fins to be black from your comments. there is a gun finishing product by Birchwood Casey that will blacken aluminum type metal. this way you don't have to worry about the peeling. It is called Aluminum Black. Link: http://www.birchwoodcasey.com/sport/blueing_index.asp?categoryID=1&subcat=5 Product description - http://www.birchwoodcasey.com/sport/images/Products/15125_sml.jpg Used by gunsmiths to blacken aluminum parts. Restores scratched and marred areas quickly. Fast-acting liquid is easy-to-apply with no dimensional change. Color will vary from deep gray to black depending on alloy. ALUMINUM BLACK is also excellent for blackening name plates, plaques, trophies and other engraved items
