I need a Kumho 165/80R15 and am looking for outlets - I've had one on order from JC Whitney for almost a month, 'bout ready to give up on them.

Thanks

I had Discount Tire order my BFG Radial T/A. Had to wait two days, but they installed it for me as well. May want to check with some local places. Tell them it is for either your trike or your sidecar.

I did call a local dealer that had a sign proclaiming he sold Kumho tires but I think I scared him when I said I only wanted one for my bike. never heard back from him :puzzled:

Don't know about sales, but I ended up going with these guys and am glad I did. Fast delivery and good folks to deal with. They also post their inventory, so you don't have to guess if you can get one.

I wanted to mention good service with this vendor. I ordered my Kumho on Nov. 30th, got an acknowledgement via email and on the 1st of Dec they sent a shipping notice saying it was shipped and would probably arrive on the 7th.

UPS just rang my doorbell and handed me the Kumho. 2 days - I'm impressed with delivery and the price was totally acceptable. $65.68 delivered.

The local Honda dealership will change the tire for me I just have to get it off my bike:

Any suggestions for the lift?

While I got her panties down what else should I be doing? (I know, I know! I am setting myself up for all kind of educational input here!)

Did you get dyna beads yet ? They're a little expensive but they sure make a difference in balancing.

Look around for good prices, you'll need 2 oz for the Kumho and welcome to the dark side !

Here's where I bought mine

Yes, Thank You! I had forgotten about those and I will order today. What about the splines and lubing the shaft drive? Wasn't there an article about that here somewhere? Is Sears the best place for the lift?

Thanks All!

You almost need the lift adapter that carbon one makes. He has 2 models - one is a free standing with legs, kinda nice for winter storage. I have the Sears ATV/motorcycle lift, it works great for me but there are other options as others here will point out.

I lube the planetary gear when I have the wheel off but I haven't pulled the drive shaft yet. Be careful on the lube, too much will start flying out and just make a mess of your rim. Don't ask how I know :bang head:

I just noticed that you have an RSTD - check the classifieds and see if the adapter will work on the RSTD. I THINK the newer models are the same (underneath) as the Ventures.

Tire is on dyna beads are in and I am officially a very happy darksider! Love the tire and not sure what all the fuss is about! The bike, to me, preforms fantastic! I feel like the tire sticks to asphalt like glue when I hit the curves. Running 40psi and don't think I'll change.

I did have a snafu during installation though. The local Honda dealer was willing to change the tire if I would remove and bring my tire to them. No biggy since I wanted to grease splines, final drive, and do all the maintenance I could while the tire was off. Being promised a 15 minute turn around I was wondering what the hey a hour later. They gave me back the tire mounted on the rim but could not pop the bead. Turns out their compressor only goes to 80psi. What kind of place is this! Fortunately I had meet someone who had a good compressor and at about 130psi she popped! I will know next time, hopefully several years down the road, to verify the compressor is worthy of a darksider!!!
