Chaharly Posted November 27, 2009 #1 Posted November 27, 2009 Hey everyone, i am looking at some job/college opportunities and am wondering if anyone in the forum is a state patrolman for Arizona. I plan on going to ITT Tech in Tucson Arizona, and then pass my tests and become a state trooper. Thanks- CJ:bobby:
sarges46 Posted November 27, 2009 #2 Posted November 27, 2009 Well CJ...I am of course not a State Trooper! But, I do admire your goal and also that you have to be the youngest person driving a "old mans" bike. Checking you pics....is that thing running now or are you still pushing it around? Nice bike.
mini-muffin Posted November 27, 2009 #3 Posted November 27, 2009 Not sure about state troopers in AZ, I know we do have a few on the site from other states. Good luck with your career goals. Margaret
Two Tone White Posted November 27, 2009 #4 Posted November 27, 2009 (edited) While I am also a Charlie Daniels fan, you may want to consider a new motto to espouse publicly. Once you put on the uniform, you need to conform to the societal norms. AZ has many transplants in all levels of LE - city, county and state. Study hard, stay out of trouble, keep good friends and be persistent and you will be GTG. Edited November 28, 2009 by Two Tone White
Shamue Posted November 27, 2009 #5 Posted November 27, 2009 Great profession. I would suggest you contact an AHP recruiter and look at the AHP web site to find out AHP's requirements, since every department is different. It would set you in the right direction and answer any questions as to what courses you should take. Many years ago I worked with several AHP officers in their intelligence and special investigations unit, at the time most had prior military experience or college degrees. Their academy is one of the finist in the Nation. Don't get discourged at any point during your search, many of the steps you will be required to do will be tests to really see how bad you want to become an officer. Good Luck, you will love it.
csogbk Posted November 27, 2009 #6 Posted November 27, 2009 I second what everyone else has said, college is a great first step to becoming a police officer. I would recomend you look into an two or four year college program vs. a "school" like ITT Tech. And, while I am also a huge CDB fan myself, change the motto. Remember, when you're doing your background investigation things like posting on this site, Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, etc. are all fair game. Be careful who you assiciate with, stay out of trouble, get good grades and soon I hope to welcome you into our very special Brotherhood!
