beyeker Posted November 25, 2009 #5 Posted November 25, 2009 I take it doesn't have the backrests. When did you buy it?
Whitlow Posted November 25, 2009 Author #6 Posted November 25, 2009 The back rest does not go with the seat it stays with my bike and my old seat. Thanks
Blue Angel Posted November 25, 2009 #7 Posted November 25, 2009 I have one as well with the back rest exactly as you see in this link http://www.corbin.com/yamaha/rsventure.shtml With studs, back rest for driver and passenger. At the Corbin site it cost $1100 with the customize Star logo on the front seat and passenger's back rest. It came of my 01 RSV. It is brand new or look like brand new. I purchase this bike about two month ago. 01 with 3000 miles on it and the guy just bought the seat from Corbin for $1100. I sale it for $900 all of it Shipping on you. Interested pls email me. ben11727@gmail.com Thanks
Whitlow Posted November 25, 2009 Author #8 Posted November 25, 2009 Are you hi jacking my post or what? No big deal but why not start your own if you want to sell your seat? Good Luck with your sale!
Whitlow Posted November 26, 2009 Author #9 Posted November 26, 2009 Here are some pictures of the seat. http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s37/VictoriaVett/Yamaha%20Royal%20Star%20Venture/CIMG0062.jpg http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s37/VictoriaVett/Yamaha%20Royal%20Star%20Venture/CIMG0059.jpg http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s37/VictoriaVett/Yamaha%20Royal%20Star%20Venture/CIMG0064.jpg http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s37/VictoriaVett/Yamaha%20Royal%20Star%20Venture/CIMG0064.jpg
Art708 Posted November 26, 2009 #10 Posted November 26, 2009 How would one put a driver's backrest on this seat?
Whitlow Posted November 26, 2009 Author #11 Posted November 26, 2009 I use the same backrest as I do for my stock seat here is a picture of the seat on my bike. Thanks Stock Seat http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s37/VictoriaVett/100_1686.jpg Corbin Seat http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s37/VictoriaVett/Yamaha%20Royal%20Star%20Venture/RSV.jpg
ken-03rsv Posted November 26, 2009 #12 Posted November 26, 2009 Hi Whitlow, First time on the forum. I have the same exact bike, looks almost like a twin! I may be interested in your seat. My bike has almost 50K miles on it, and the seat feels a little thin. I was thinking about replacing it, but my wife's seat on the back is still very comfortable and she's happy with it. (So I have to be very careful replacing it!) Is the passenger seat the same dimensions as the stock seat? Also, since this is a single unit and the stock seats are separate front and rear units, is there any modification necessary to make it work? Happy Thanksgiving!
Art708 Posted November 26, 2009 #13 Posted November 26, 2009 Beautiful bike! The red makes the seashell look good. Mine is seashell/black and I don't like it. Yours looks MUCH better.
Tartan Terror Posted November 27, 2009 #14 Posted November 27, 2009 On the corbin there is a little flap behind the driver seat. it is held down by velcro. Just lift the flap and buy the backrest for the Corbin and it just slides right in. Look at my gallery and you will see.
footsie Posted November 28, 2009 #15 Posted November 28, 2009 Look carefully at the pictures, I do not see the backrest flap on that seat, and not all Corbin's have the backrest mount built into the seat. Gregg
Whitlow Posted November 29, 2009 Author #16 Posted November 29, 2009 Look carefully at the pictures, I do not see the backrest flap on that seat, and not all Corbin's have the backrest mount built into the seat. Gregg No need to look carefully the seat does not have a place to put a Corbin backrest that is why when you see it on my RSV I have the adjustable backrest on both seats. It is so much more of adjustment than the Corbin style. I'm only going to offer this seat for sale until Dec 5 that is when my taxes are due after that I will keep it and just make other arrangement to pay my taxes. It is a good deal for what I'm asking I found the matching passenger backrest for it it has the same stitching as the seat I My daughter said she would get it for me for Xmas if the seat did not sell. I just keep my stock seat until I sell the bike and sell the Corbin then. Thanks for looking!
