GlennTuc Posted November 21, 2009 #1 Posted November 21, 2009 Going to order a Kuhmo 165/80-15 next week to begin the journey to the darkside. Going to give it a try. I think I've read that some people use a 155/80-15, if so, why? Glenn
BigBoyinMS Posted November 21, 2009 #2 Posted November 21, 2009 The 155/80-15 is a Goodrich and it has a 2-ply sidewall that some just would rather have. And some may think it's a better quality tire. I'm happy with the Kumho. It's just whatever makes you happy. Personally I can't get past the white letters on one side of the BFG.
pegscraper Posted November 21, 2009 #3 Posted November 21, 2009 Mostly it is that the 155 BFG is the first tire that people figured out would fit. It is a little smaller than the stock size MT which cuts ground clearance and throws the speedometer a little further off than it already is, so some of us kept looking. Shortly afterwards the 165 was discovered to be a better match to the size.
