dkip Posted November 21, 2009 #1 Posted November 21, 2009 I'am planning on getting new elite 111 tires for my RSTD and was interested in getting opions of using the smaller front tire pros and cons What i was thinking was the 130/90-hb 16 for front 150/90 hb 15 rear Is this a good combination or would I be better to go with the 150/80 hb16 for the front Thanks Dale
Stoutman Posted November 21, 2009 #2 Posted November 21, 2009 I've done the narrower front tire. It made the bike handle a little lighter at slow speeds. Other side is that it handled a little faster, less smooth, at highway speeds. It didn't bother me, it was just something I noticed. After I put on the leveling links I went back to the 150 size tire and I'm happy with that. Best of luck.
Sleeperhawk Posted November 21, 2009 #3 Posted November 21, 2009 I love the smaller tire up front, not only did it help with slow speed maneuvering, but in the twisties, a whole lot less effort. I know some have complained about lightness at highway speed, but I am 98% 2 up and I never noticed any issue at that speed, with no wind, high winds and trucks. The only way you are going to know if it was right for you, is to try it out.
