A silly question

My 07 RSTD is red over black..but I seen the black over red? Is this a choice preference or is it the year the bike is?

Take a look at the history tab to see the colors by year. Colors change every year. frequently RSTD colors are the following year from RSV colors.

 

Answer. They are by year and model.

 

thereare usually 2 colors (or color combinations) each year one for the plain version and one for the S version (with extra chrome)

It is the year of the color scheme. My '05 is black over red. Yamaha brought those colors back for '07 but flipped it to red over black.

Now as far as preference..... I do prefer my black over red, mostly because it's mine and it's paid for.

Now that makes since. But I got to tell you the red over black is the best looking..since its my colors.

I had a 2007 Black over Black but decided it would look better if it were Black over Dupont Spectramaster YM516 as the picture shows. yeah it's paid for too
