Monty Posted November 16, 2009 #3 Posted November 16, 2009 Mine is a 1983 Venture Standard with 59,500 miles, and I ride it almost daily. Only problem I have is the dreaded 2nd gear problem that the early 1st gens had.

Freebird Posted November 16, 2009 #7 Posted November 16, 2009 There are quite a few out there with well over 100,000 miles with no major repairs. I've seen a couple with 200,000 and one in Canada several years ago with 400,000.

Sylvester Posted November 16, 2009 #11 Posted November 16, 2009 Sylvester, my 02 Midnight has 110 K plus on him and runs like new. The last bike I will ever own unless it gets totaled!
steve crossley Posted November 16, 2009 #12 Posted November 16, 2009 i have an 86 with 141500 and climbing !
McBrush Posted November 16, 2009 #13 Posted November 16, 2009 The original owner of my Venture had 5 previous Ventures - according to his dealer he would ride 100,000 miles and trade it in on a new one. Unfortunately, just before his 80th birthday he passed on, which is how I got his newest one with 15K on it. Lots and lots of life in these bikes, for sure!

starkruzen Posted November 17, 2009 Author #24 Posted November 17, 2009 Very interesting guys! I traded my 08 Harley Dyna for a 07 RSTD a month ago, and I love this machine...what a smooth riding bike. Funny, went with my ground on a 320 mile day trip Sunday and got 82 miles into it and one of our riders blew his stator on his 08 Harley Road King! The funny thing is, he had a RSTD for about 5 years and sold it for the Harley...now he regrets it. He only had this Harley for about 9 months and he already bleyw his front wheel berrings, and a stator. He told me he never had a problem with the RSTD... He wants to get a Venture now or a Goldwing. I don't miss my Harley one little bit. Mark:draming:
Kirby Posted November 17, 2009 #25 Posted November 17, 2009 I've got an 09 RSV, bought in June his year. I've put 13,000 on it so far.
