Motorcycle Mike Posted November 15, 2009 #1 Posted November 15, 2009 Need to syncronise the carbs on my 09 venture. Home remodeling has eaten all my tool buying funds. Anyone in North Ga. have the tools and want to hold my hand while doing this for the first time?
86er Posted November 16, 2009 #2 Posted November 16, 2009 Hey, Mike. I'm in Mayretta and I have a carbtune. If you want to get together next Sun. (or an afternoon this week) we can probably do your carbs. I haven't done a 2nd gen, but I reckon we can figure it out with some input from some of the other Harley-wanna-bees out there!
Bummer Posted November 16, 2009 #3 Posted November 16, 2009 The instructions in the service manual are incorrect. Check out [ame=http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=258]this post[/ame] for the corrections. You're also going to need a long #2 phillips screw driver. A foot might do. 16 inches is a bit long. There's a screw on the left that has to be adjusted from the right side.
SteveW Posted November 16, 2009 #4 Posted November 16, 2009 Hi Mike I also have a carb tune and live in Cleveland Ga. any day during the week or Sunday would work for me if your up this way on a ride. 2nd gen's are easy to do. Steve
Motorcycle Mike Posted November 16, 2009 Author #5 Posted November 16, 2009 Thanks guys. A ride in the mountains sounds good for Thursday or Friday. Steve, I'll send you a pm. 86er, I appreciate the offer but SteveW says he has expierience with 2nd gens and the the riding is better up his way. Would love to meet up with you sometime though.
