Chaharly Posted November 15, 2009 #1 Posted November 15, 2009 Hey all, just trying to get a lot of supporters for this. I think that in the forums, if you see a post you like, but dont want to quote it to show you agree with it, they should have maybe a Like button, or a Thumbs Up or Down to show that you agree with them. Just a thought, if any of you have any suggestions or want think this is a good idea, please post in the forum, if we make enough posts, maybe freebird will have to see it! Okay, well thank you for your support.
Dano Posted November 15, 2009 #2 Posted November 15, 2009 Look towards the bottom of the smilies, there's lots of choices for post flags that should foot the bill.

Freebird Posted November 15, 2009 #5 Posted November 15, 2009 (edited) OK...I HOPE that I understood what you were asking for. I've added a button at the bottom of the post...right beside the reply, edit, quote buttons that says "Thanks". That button is for those folks who don't post a lot or really have nothing to add but want to let you know that your post helped them or was otherwise appreciated in some way. If you click the "Thanks" button, it will add your name to a new box under the post that indicates your appreciation. There will also be a line in the upper left of the post...just below the "flags" that shows how many thanks a post has received. I THINK this was something like you wanted. OH...and before somebody reports that they cannot see the button..it will NOT be present in a post that YOU made. You can't thank yourself. Edited November 15, 2009 by Freebird

That sounds about perfect, because a number of times i've wanted to agree with someone, but didnt have anything important to add to the conversation. Thank you!

Thank you! as the saying goes... "if you don't have anything important to say...say nothing"
bongobobny Posted November 15, 2009 #8 Posted November 15, 2009 You know what is going to happen now??? "Thank You Whores..."

Since this is now built, can we have an option to turn it off, so it does not clutter up the threads . Like the idea of saying thanks, but I do not want to see pages of thank you while browsing.
Freebird Posted November 15, 2009 #10 Posted November 15, 2009 No, I don't know of any way to turn it off. If used correctly though, there shouldn't be a LOT of them except on the first post of threads that are really helpful. May be for a few days because it's new and everybody will want to try it. If it gets to be a real problem though, I'll see what I can come up with.
mraf Posted November 15, 2009 #11 Posted November 15, 2009 You know what is going to happen now??? "Thank You Whores..." :rotfl::rotfl: I think the new {Thank You} button should say {Thank You Sahib for your most infinite wisdom on this matter of mutual understanding} has a better ring to it doesn't it?:rotfl:
Blue Giant Posted November 15, 2009 #12 Posted November 15, 2009 I was being a wiseass when I responded with this, I thought the old thumbs up was more than enough to "yes I agree" or "Yes I like what you posted" or "nice picture" What was wrong with simple? (Not you bongobobny)

(Not you bongobobny) For what it is worth, that is EXACTLY how I interpreted your post...
Bubber Posted November 16, 2009 #14 Posted November 16, 2009 "You know what is going to happen now??? "Thank You Whores..." bongobobny OK BOB you are in the running!!!!! LOL

Like the idea of saying thanks, but I do not want to see pages of thank you while browsing. OK....the list of those who have "thanked" somebody are now collapsed. It shows how many times but you have to click the arrow on the right side to see the list of names. Hope that helps.
