dkip Posted November 14, 2009 #1 Posted November 14, 2009 I'am thinging of getting one of these trailer to tow my bike south this winter. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with long distant towing with one of these trailers I'am hoping to go to Arizona which is over 2000 miles Hoping someone has some first hand information Thanks Dale
barend Posted November 14, 2009 #2 Posted November 14, 2009 Dunno, track width seems maybe a tad low, especially with a high CG bike, but then the loading deck is probably only 6". Mostly a trailer will go where you pointg the car witout any problems and as far as that goes I have no problem pulling one for 2K miles or 20K for that matter. Check on the tie down points too, seems a tad narrow. Just keep in mind i never trailered a bike:innocent:
birin Posted November 15, 2009 #3 Posted November 15, 2009 Just bought one last weekend The guy I bought it from said it was amazing. Got the 52 inch wider wheel base model Need to modify my hitch as the trailer hitch pin (not a ball type hitch so the trailer cant flip) which gets bolted to the vehicle needs to be a maximum of 13 of the ground level The former owner said it tracked great. The wheels and axle are pretty large and he was towing at 120 KPH (around 70mph) with no problems Need to buy some new tie downs and maybe some reflectors to better define the trailer at night
dkip Posted November 16, 2009 Author #4 Posted November 16, 2009 I went ahead and bought one from a fellow who only used it twice It's the wider model also I need to put a hitch on my car and try to get away somewere warm this winter and do some riding Thanks Dale
