Chaharly Posted November 14, 2009 #1 Posted November 14, 2009 So, just curious, how many miles have you guys put on this year? I got my 85 Venture in April, turned 16 may 7th, and put on more than 6,200 miles this summer. So how many have you put on your venture?
midnightventure Posted November 14, 2009 #2 Posted November 14, 2009 I put about 10000 miles on it every year but it isn't my only bike.
Midrsv Posted November 14, 2009 #3 Posted November 14, 2009 It's been a light year for me, about 17,500. I usually do about 20,000 DT
RandyR Posted November 14, 2009 #4 Posted November 14, 2009 I bought my Tour Deluxe on April 3rd and have 9175 miles on it now. There are several riders on this forum that log 30,000 miles a year I think.
Guest scarylarry Posted November 14, 2009 #5 Posted November 14, 2009 Roughly around 4k in 2 months, it is 50 miles to work round trip X 5 plus the weekend
BIG TOM Posted November 14, 2009 #6 Posted November 14, 2009 Since I purchased my venture I've been doing around 10,000 miles a year....before that with any other bike I have owned about 4 or 5 ,000..........
RossKean Posted November 14, 2009 #7 Posted November 14, 2009 Just over 20,000 miles this year. Not too bad for someone who isn't retired and living in the cooler climate of Eastern Canada. I ride from early April until the snow and salt are on the roads in the fall - mid to late November. This time of year, rides are shorter but I hope to manage another 1000 miles or so before I put it to bed for the winter. Tomorrow is looking pretty good. I managed a trip down to New Hampshire last weekend - fantastic late season riding. Ross
BoomerCPO Posted November 14, 2009 #9 Posted November 14, 2009 Sneaking up on 40K with just 2 riding seasons. Boomer.....who does not have ski's on the Venture.....yet.
Eck Posted November 14, 2009 #10 Posted November 14, 2009 Being I was in an accident and had to have time to heal up, I have since then put close to 13k on my GW..:biker:
friesman Posted November 14, 2009 #11 Posted November 14, 2009 ive put about 18000kms (12000 miles) on my 85 VR this year. I thought it was quite a few kms until i looked at some of these other guys. Brian
Color01 Posted November 14, 2009 #12 Posted November 14, 2009 I don't have always the time to ride around thru the week .. But I still put almost 10.000 miles on the bike this year.
BOO Posted November 14, 2009 #13 Posted November 14, 2009 I was just whining to some of my buddies the other day that I was not putting very many miles on the RSV.....6,600 this past season. I'm usually in the 10 to 12,000 area. Maybe I need to go back to work, I seem to put many more miles when I was working..........NOT.. Heck I've been on trips longer than the miles I put on this last season. One thing though, my son has a 5 year old bike with less than 3,000 total miles on it. Most of that was riding with me. Like we say here in Chicago about our sport teams.......Maybe next year..... BOO
footsie Posted November 14, 2009 #14 Posted November 14, 2009 Bought my 04 in june with 8000 on it has 18,000 on now. about 3000 miles a month. but I ride mine to work and every where I go alone. Gregg
Ndiaz Posted November 14, 2009 #15 Posted November 14, 2009 Not quite 40 years riding motorcycles, a total of roughly 500,000 miles altogether, (on 11 different motorcycles), doing the math... About 12,500 miles per year, a modest amount. Nick Diaz Middletown, MD
Brake Pad Posted November 14, 2009 #16 Posted November 14, 2009 just under 19000 this year. work GOOD!!!!!
Wanderer Posted November 14, 2009 #17 Posted November 14, 2009 6 months and 10,400. I usually do between 10 - 25k. Sometimes it's the quality not the quantity.
scooter45 Posted November 14, 2009 #18 Posted November 14, 2009 I get about 6,000 to 7,000 miles a year in MN. Some years I have taken it out ever month.
Chaharly Posted November 14, 2009 Author #19 Posted November 14, 2009 ive put about 18000kms (12000 miles) on my 85 VR this year. I thought it was quite a few kms until i looked at some of these other guys. Brian Haha cool, and if you notice, we have the same bike, colour and all!
RoadKill Posted November 14, 2009 #20 Posted November 14, 2009 Got my Goldwing March 14 and put 22k miles on it....so far:thumbsup:
Hummingbird Posted November 14, 2009 #21 Posted November 14, 2009 I guess I'd fall into the lightweight area - on a BIG year I still only get around 5000 miles
wild hair 39 Posted November 14, 2009 #22 Posted November 14, 2009 don't know, but from may 09,sume where around 30,000 on the 92 voy,i have lost track, took a couple of mo off due to left lege & can't get my ducks in a row [$]
friesman Posted November 14, 2009 #24 Posted November 14, 2009 Haha cool, and if you notice, we have the same bike, colour and all! Ya have a good bike then. I am thinking that most 85 G1's were Glorious Maxie Brown with the Marshall gold accent. There are quite a few of us around who ride the brown 85's, Some are PB&J , Gigawhiskey, and Yammer Dan. Mine is mostly maxie Brown as I didnt like the accent on the bags so i had that removed when the bags were repainted last winter. Welcome to the group!!! If you ever need a part or advice ask here, we may be able to help out! Us prairie guys gotta stick together! Brian
LilBeaver Posted November 14, 2009 #25 Posted November 14, 2009 Haha cool, and if you notice, we have the same bike, colour and all! Almost, friesman probably has the fancy canadian package... I bet those come with block heaters
