04Midnight Posted November 13, 2009 #5 Posted November 13, 2009 The sound will still suck if you don't improve amplification. The stock amp just isn't powerful enough. You will get clipping galore when you crank it up.
a1bummer Posted November 13, 2009 #6 Posted November 13, 2009 The sound will still suck if you don't improve amplification. The stock amp just isn't powerful enough. You will get clipping galore when you crank it up. This is a very common mistake. When people hear crackling or crappy sounds coming from the speakers they installed not to long ago, they assume they blew them out. Then go get new ones and do it again. Most don't realize that if the system can't put out enough power to drive the speaker, it will sound awful. So simply try to match the stereo/amp power output to the speakers input as best you can. And of coarse, put + to + and - to -. Some people can tell when they are mixed up. Not me though! But I still try to put them in right.
99silver Posted November 13, 2009 #7 Posted November 13, 2009 I used the Pioneer speakers from Wally World they sound a little better, However you are only going to get so much out of a 4" speaker. Rocking the World ain't possible. Gary
