Yammer Dan Posted November 6, 2009 #2 Posted November 6, 2009 You can put all of it into a 1st Gen. Just never know how much of it we got .... Really I think about the biggest pick-up you can do for the 2nd Gen is swap out the rear gears.
Kirby Posted November 6, 2009 #3 Posted November 6, 2009 I think if you'll check closer, the 85 and 86 models had the 145 hp. I think sometime later( don't know exactly what year) they were detuned to have only 118 hp! Check out Vmaxoutlaw.com to be sure.
bongobobny Posted November 7, 2009 #4 Posted November 7, 2009 Uhhhhh, how much money do you want to spend??? Betcha we ould ram a 572 Cadilac engine in it somehow...
boominup Posted November 8, 2009 #5 Posted November 8, 2009 If you have the $$$ to go to that extreme, you might as well go for the Big Block BOSS HOSS. The engineering is already done. And also, you have a constant reminder of when to change your rear tire...at every fuel stop!
KiteSquid Posted November 8, 2009 Author #6 Posted November 8, 2009 I was mostly just armchair dragracing..... Did not want to spend any money on the idea, but if I found a Vmax for a low amout of $ it might be fun. I was mostly thinking intake track, heads, exhaust and the rear end from a 1st gen Vmax, oh and the electronics to run the spark.....would be a LOT of fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If I were to spend any real money, I would probally just go buy a Corvette......

Sylvester Posted November 9, 2009 #8 Posted November 9, 2009 The founder of Star Touring and Riding Association had an 02 midnight called Widow. It was custom and had a factory built 1500cc engine that would really run. He never worried about 1st gen bikes. I believe he sold it but I am not sure.
