jlh3rd Posted November 5, 2009 #1 Posted November 5, 2009 thought i'd pass this along cabela's is selling a reproduction 1851 confederate navy colt .44 cal. pistol, black powder, new, for $129.99...pistol is made by Pietta...i am by no means a knowledgeable gun collector...and i'm sure this isn't gonna light fires under serious collectors..but my son wants to start a gun collection and it's a nice piece.......and maybe others might be interested......supposedly good through xmas........
painterman67 Posted November 5, 2009 #2 Posted November 5, 2009 good price and it should be fun to shot David
Sylvester Posted November 5, 2009 #3 Posted November 5, 2009 If you are collecting for appreciation value then this is not the pistol of choice. If you just want something that is fun to shoot, then have at it. There are so many handguns that are appreciating at rapid rates, so that is where I look for to put money.
RandyR Posted November 5, 2009 #4 Posted November 5, 2009 I have one of the smaller .36 Colt Navy Italian replicas. Its fun and cheap to shoot.
jlh3rd Posted November 5, 2009 Author #5 Posted November 5, 2009 sylvester naw...he just's wants to start ....anything that would appreciate in value is gonna cost too much now anyway...........for example...he picked up a russian rifle for $100 at a show...probably paid $99 too much...but it's a conversation piece.........
Yammer Dan Posted November 5, 2009 #6 Posted November 5, 2009 Lot of fun to shoot. Just don't overload it on the powder. I got one I ruined by shooting too heavy.
