Globewalker Posted January 15, 2010 #26 Posted January 15, 2010 Thanks for the responses.. moving me forward a bit wont be bad for me.. as long as it doesn't raise me too much. Well.. I won the bid on ebay... so I will find out when it comes in..
brewser23 Posted January 15, 2010 #27 Posted January 15, 2010 I have the very first set of Ultimates made for the TD. Des borrowed my bike while he was developing them for the TD and once he was finished with doing the prototype, the first set went on my bike (free of charge ). I actually really like the seats, have spent many 9 -10 hr days on it and had no issues. Obviously everyone is bit different and what works for me may be a disaster for you . ps The display bike on his website is mine
starkruzen Posted January 15, 2010 #28 Posted January 15, 2010 Go with the Ultamate! I tried the Corbin Dual Tour seat, big pain in the rear. The Ultamate I can ride all day no problems at all. Good luck Mark P.S> Let us know what you end up with.
starkruzen Posted January 15, 2010 #29 Posted January 15, 2010 Hey Jfoster...I sware I thought the same way until I got the Ultimate. The only issue I have with it is the back rest. It makes me sweat because the materail is "real simulated leather (vinal)
jfoster Posted January 16, 2010 #31 Posted January 16, 2010 Currently, I'm back to riding on my stock seats with the Butler mod with the utopia backrest and am very pleased. I do wish the back rest was the same size as the mustang though.
bobbyduck Posted January 22, 2010 #32 Posted January 22, 2010 I bought the Ultimate set 3 years ago and love it! I did have 2 mods done, mostly because I have a 29 inch (and dropping :-) inseam and both the wife and I are on the heavy side. I had a bit scooped out from the front of the Ultimate so I can reach the ground better. And I had an alternate pad made for the backrest that is narrower, the stock one was cutting into my wife's inner thighs. The Comfort Cruise that Corbin makes for Yamaha is an evil torture rack, IMHO. I have owned several Corbin seats in the past that were awesome, but the Yamaha Comfort Cruise version showed no sign of breaking in after 1300 km. I did a 650 km day and almost couldn't walk! With the Ultimate I can do 12 hour days, as can my wife with the Ultimate and Airhawk. On the stock seats, 5-6 hours max. On the "Comfort Cruise" I wanted to burn the whole danged bike after 100 miles.....
