BoomerCPO Posted October 26, 2009 #1 Posted October 26, 2009 I currently have a full set of Michelin Commanders on my bike. I also have 1 new Commander rear tire on the shelf. For next Spring I'm thinking of mounting the new rear Commander on the front-mounted backwards......and a new Kuhomo CT on the rear. Thoughts/comments welcome!! Boomer......who really needs a high mileage set-up.
Bubber Posted October 26, 2009 #2 Posted October 26, 2009 Problem is one is a 15" and one is a 16". Bubber......who can't really fix that for ya I hear the Commander is a pretty good tire. I have them on mine so I hope that is correct.

BoomerCPO Posted October 27, 2009 Author #6 Posted October 27, 2009 Ebay the Commander or post it here and get the Kumho. You will be glad you did IMHO. Not a bad idea....... Now I just have to find a great front tire that will match up with the Kumho...... Boomer.....still waiting for more info.
BoomerCPO Posted October 27, 2009 Author #7 Posted October 27, 2009 Put a splint on your right wrist.... If I do that I'd be riding like a 1st Genner............ Boomer.....waiting for incoming now.
BigBoyinMS Posted October 27, 2009 #8 Posted October 27, 2009 Not a bad idea....... Now I just have to find a great front tire that will match up with the Kumho...... Boomer.....still waiting for more info. Over at the Darksiders forum the Pirelli MT-66 has become the tire of choice for rear on front. Long life, great grip and a 150/80H16 is less than $100 at motorcycle-superstore.
Yammer Dan Posted October 27, 2009 #9 Posted October 27, 2009 With a splint on my wrist I'm still ahead of the 2nd Gens!!!
footsie Posted October 27, 2009 #10 Posted October 27, 2009 Put a 150/80r/16 Avon Cobra on frount, with the kumho on back, you won't regret it. If you will check the posts on the darkside, there are several running this combo. It has the grip to match the radial on back, ride is great and all of the handling problems are gone. I am one that beleives if you put a radial on back, then put a radial on frount. The Cobra on the frount of my bike now has 3500 miles on it, and still looks new. The cobra is going to run you, more $160 bucks, but its worth it, I have been running car tires on the back for years, put the first one on my Valkyrie back in 2001 and have never considered going back. But I have always, run a radial with a radial. My first venture had an dunlop on frount, second had pirelli, and the 2004 had bridgestone when I went to the radial CT on back, none of them handled properly to me, until I put a radial on frount. Take my word for it, go with the Cobra. You can get one from bikebandit.com for $164 and 7.95 shipping, with 10% discount if you are an AMA member. Gregg
footsie Posted October 27, 2009 #11 Posted October 27, 2009 Read bloodbought1's post about the kumho and cobra.
