What's the meaning of first and seconf generation of RSTD? I assume the age right?

The first gen are faster, so they're always first,,,,,, unless we do a group ride, then often enough they go last so that they won't leave the 2nd gens behind by accident.

Asking about RSTDs, there isn't a correct answer in here yet. The early Royal Stars run from '96 - '01, not '98 as someone mentioned. Then the RSTD was picked up again in '05.
