venture101 Posted October 24, 2009 #1 Posted October 24, 2009 I have the Barons risers on my 07RSV. Love them but throttle doesn't return when in right turn to lock. I plan on having my fairing and tank off this Winter so that would be the time to reroute the throttle cable. My question is which way to reroute and any tricks or problems. Thanks in advance.
sarges46 Posted October 24, 2009 #2 Posted October 24, 2009 I messed with mine this summer. I could not get it to work right. I ended up coming through the inside of the fork as opposed to the outside. If you look close you can see it and it does look a little funny. But it works until I can think of something else. This is the second bike I've had with the risers, the first one gave me no trouble at all, I just loosed the cables a bit and wiggled them around and all was good. This one, not so much.

I just bought the 2" over length braided steel cables and wow.. nice now..

It is possible to get it so the throttle is smooth at full lock to the right. I pulled the fairing and redid mine about 5-6 times till it worked... Keep at it you can get it. Just work till you get it to go the shortest route with no hard kinks when turned all the way to the right. You got to hold your mouth just right and it will come together.

I had to go 2" over length on the cables as the tightness in the neck caused a lot of binding and chaffing and odd effects to the radio as well.. No joke, it was as if it was choking the electrons in the wiring.. lol.. But play with it, you'll get enough slack to work itself out.. Cheers
