starkruzen Posted October 21, 2009 #1 Posted October 21, 2009 I just purchased a Royal Star Tour Deluxe *2007) will, actually traded my HD FXDL for it. How do you remove the drivers seat? Thanks Mark
naturbar Posted October 21, 2009 #2 Posted October 21, 2009 remove the two allen bolts on either side of driver seat and lift it off...... you will see a bolt behind the seat which screws into the rear fender- remove it ......i believe there is one bolt which goes horizontally in front of the seat remove it....viola the rear seat is off. there is additional support mechanism under the seat which can be removed if you're trying to set it up as a solo ride - i think this info is correct - good luck and have fun with your 'new' RSTD !
naturbar Posted October 21, 2009 #3 Posted October 21, 2009 one more thing...try this link and simply put in all the correct info and you can see every piece part on your bike.... http://www.babbittsonline.com/pages/parts/viewbybrand/1/Yamaha.aspx
naturbar Posted October 21, 2009 #4 Posted October 21, 2009 correction - after removing the two allen bolts and removing the front seat - the remainder of my instructions were for removing the rear seat - hope i've not confused you too much!
SilvrT Posted October 21, 2009 #5 Posted October 21, 2009 after removing the two allen bolts and removing the front seat "allen bolts" ??? Is it different on an RSTD? coz mine are HEX NUTS on the RSV
massey130 Posted October 22, 2009 #7 Posted October 22, 2009 allen head, hex head, just a reason to buy more shiny tools to put in the tool box. buy the sets, they are cheaper than just buying one-sie or two-sieez. well, maybe when cost divided by number of pieces anyway. he he
