remove the two allen bolts on either side of driver seat and lift it off...... you will see a bolt behind the seat which screws into the rear fender- remove it ......i believe there is one bolt which goes horizontally in front of the seat remove it....viola the rear seat is off. there is additional support mechanism under the seat which can be removed if you're trying to set it up as a solo ride - i think this info is correct - good luck and have fun with your 'new' RSTD !

correction - after removing the two allen bolts and removing the front seat - the remainder of my instructions were for removing the rear seat - hope i've not confused you too much!

Is it different on an RSTD? coz mine are HEX NUTS on the RSV

allen head, hex head, just a reason to buy more shiny tools to put in the tool box. buy the sets, they are cheaper than just buying one-sie or two-sieez. well, maybe when cost divided by number of pieces anyway. he he

yeppers they are button head allens..........
