Once the fog lifted this morning we headed out for the Foothills parkway and the Dragon's Tail. What a fantastic day! The weather was perfect. High 40s when we left this morning and warming up fast.

I can't believe how this bike handles the twisties. I only scraped the floor boards a few times. It's the first time I've been on the dragon with the RSV. Last time I did it, I still had the Road Star.

We continued on to Cherokee and back across the park on 441. Would you believe there was snow on the ground up there? I came 500 miles south of Canada and find snow. Who'd of thought?

So good to see you and Mary out riding and enjoying life, but it just isn't fair..

I sure wish I could join you, but I have other irons in the poker right now. :whistling:

Hope you two have a wonderful ride and a very safe journey all the way back to home.

It sure is a beautiful area and I'm glad the weather was good for your ride.

I was up in the area Monday, came down through Hiawassi, Ga. into Helen.

While I was in Helen I saw 3 RSV riders . I was stopped by Nora's Mill, and a Blue/black RSV went by with two other bikes.. The other RSV's were coming into Helen as I was leaving so all I could do is wave . One seemed to be Tan/Raspberry and the other was a darker color.

Anyway it was a"Great day to be riding."

Sorry Gary but you didnt come far enough south..........:snow2:

It was still a great trip Jeff. It was really nice in the lower elevations.

The salt bothered me more than the snow and the cold though. It's going to take a couple of days to get my bike cleaned up.

Glad you two had a great trip. I did the Dragon back in 2004 twice. Dragged my new R/K mufflers too. I dont need the twisties that bad anymore...LOL. Im quite content on A1A here in Florida. Be safe....

Gary, it sounds (and from the look of the pictures) like you had a great time.

Salt on the roads already. Good luck getting it all out and off of your bike.

We (and about a million other people) couldn't have picked a better time to go to the Smoky's to see the fall colours. It was just about peak time. At the highest elevations on the Blue Ridge there were no leaves left at all but from 5000' on down it was beautiful. Cades cove was a mistake as it was bumper to bumper in there with everyone stopping to look at stupid deer. SM Nat'l. Park was also pretty busy and slow going. The Blue Ridge was fantastic. I came off of the Blue Ridge at 276 to catch I40 back to Sevierville. Wow, that little stretch coming down was just about as good as the Dragon. Had to be careful though because there was salt at the top.

Got back home today. Now the clean up begins.
