Whitlow Posted October 12, 2009 #1 Posted October 12, 2009 So who all out there has them what brand, do you like them and any other info you can give me. Thanks
Bigfoot Posted October 12, 2009 #2 Posted October 12, 2009 I used Barons 1 1/2 inch risers. I had to use them once I put a backrest on or my knees would hit the end of the bars. Fairly simple to install.
Whitlow Posted October 12, 2009 Author #3 Posted October 12, 2009 Do you like them? did it make much of a difference? Also how did you get the weather thing on your sig?
Chinto Posted October 12, 2009 #4 Posted October 12, 2009 I have the Gen Mar brand. 1 and half inches. It doesn't seem like much but it makes the ride more comfortable. No change on any of the cables or brake lines.
Bigfoot Posted October 12, 2009 #5 Posted October 12, 2009 (edited) Do you like them? did it make much of a difference? Also how did you get the weather thing on your sig? I like them. When I first installed them my right elbow started hurting on the first ride. Within a 2nd or 3rd ride it was fine so maybe it wasn't the risers causing the pain. Without the risers I would have had to leave off the backrest which is now a piece of equipment I'll never go without again. At 6'5 my knees would hit the end of the bars without the bar risers. The backrest was pushing me forward just enough to create this problem. I really don't recall how I did the weather thing. Maybe someone else will remember. Edited October 13, 2009 by Bigfoot
SilvrT Posted October 13, 2009 #6 Posted October 13, 2009 I was getting pain in the muscles at the base of the neck. Put the risers on (Baron's) and pain gone... made all the difference for me.
Whitlow Posted October 13, 2009 Author #7 Posted October 13, 2009 I went with these a good price and they look nice with I'll post reply when I get them to let you know how good the quality really is. But the seller has 100% positive feedback. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200393622209&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWNX%3AIT
BigBoyinMS Posted October 13, 2009 #8 Posted October 13, 2009 Mine has spacers similar to Whitlows. They put the bars just right. Just one thing to know... at full right or left you will bump the ignition switch cover. If you have the stock black plastic cover it's no biggie but I think there is an accessory chrome metal one that would definitely get dented or at least scuffed.
BoomerCPO Posted October 13, 2009 #9 Posted October 13, 2009 I had purchased the Baron's 1 1/2" riser extenders but did not use them. After Rick Butler did the seat mod for my Venture I realized that my seating and hand placement on the handlebars was perfect. I sold the Baron's to another member here. I have done 800+ mile days with no problems whatsoever thanks to the Butler Seat Mod. Boomer......with over 35K on the scoot and still riding hard.
