eazyduzzit Posted October 11, 2009 #1 Posted October 11, 2009 I know several of you have the Go Pro cameras. I just got one and when I play back the videos there's no sound. I have Winders Vister (that's East TN. for Windows Vista). Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? TIA Jim
silverdeer0454 Posted October 11, 2009 #2 Posted October 11, 2009 Check the settings (it's a PITA) there are 2 settings for sound High and Low, sometimes if it's on Low, the sound is barely audible. silverdeer
silverdeer0454 Posted October 11, 2009 #3 Posted October 11, 2009 http://www.goprocamera.com/faqs#6 - This is their web site There is NO SOUND when I playback the video… Well, do not be fooled…there should be sound. eazyduzzit Posted October 11, 2009 Author #4 Posted October 11, 2009 Yeah, I saw that on their web sight & emailed them, but haven't gotten an answer back from them yet. I was hoping someone here with Vista had ran into the same problem.
silverdeer0454 Posted October 11, 2009 #5 Posted October 11, 2009 I have Vista but didn't encounter any problems. The only "sound" issue I ran in to was getting notices from You Tube that I was violating copyrights by adding the music of my choice to the video. If you upload to You Tube you can use music they provide free of charge. It just puts an ad on your video.
DragonRider Posted October 12, 2009 #6 Posted October 12, 2009 I didnt receive a notice, but I wondered why my sound disappeared from my video on YouTube............now I know.............. silverdeer0454 Posted October 12, 2009 #9 Posted October 12, 2009 OK, I'm calling hi-jack... Hijack!! I think not! Just trying to keep the link alive until GoPro customer service gets back to ya! J/K...Just checked with my co-worker, who is working on his Microsoft Certification...It could be a codec error or missing driver. The puzzling part about a missing driver is that usually you can't download audio OR video, but you stated the video downloads but no audio. It's possible you may be able to download "Media Player Classic" the older version of the Windows Media Player. silverdeer
hunter 1500 Posted October 12, 2009 #10 Posted October 12, 2009 I used mine for the first time yesterday and had some good video going on a twisty road over in NY called Tracy road even almost ran over a ruffed grouse or partridge as we call them. Got on rt9 and was cruzing at about 70 and I saw something go flying over my sholder and by the time I relized what it was and had a good place to make a U turn I had gone about a 1/4 mile. I slowy rode back and looked for it along the side of the road and going both ways several times to no avail. I parked the bike on the side and walked back and forth corvering both sides of the road and couldn't find it. I had met one car and the only thing I can think of is that it stayed in the road and the car stopped and picked it up before I got a chance to turn around and go back. I was on the brow of a hill so I wouldn't have been able to see them do it. I might go back and look one more time a little farther off the road. It was just the camera part that came loose from the holder.:mad:
eazyduzzit Posted October 12, 2009 Author #11 Posted October 12, 2009 It was just the camera part that came loose from the holder. How did it come loose? Did the thumbscrew fall out?
silverdeer0454 Posted October 13, 2009 #12 Posted October 13, 2009 Dang!! That makes me want to double check all the thumbscrews the next time I use it. I use a zip tie to secure the suction cup part so it doesn't fly off.
hunter 1500 Posted October 13, 2009 #13 Posted October 13, 2009 How did it come loose? Did the thumbscrew fall out? Yes it was the thumb screw.
Guest tx2sturgis Posted October 13, 2009 #14 Posted October 13, 2009 ....and the only thing I can think of is that it stayed in the road and the car stopped and picked it up before I got a chance to turn around and go back.: Well, what did ya expect?
