Wanderer Posted October 8, 2009 #3 Posted October 8, 2009 You certainly must have spent many sleepless nights coming up with names for the bikes.
eazyduzzit Posted October 8, 2009 #4 Posted October 8, 2009 That's nothing. I have a cat that "followed my daughter home" 13 years ago. His name is Kitty.
Yama Mama Posted October 8, 2009 #5 Posted October 8, 2009 Nice looking bikes, Thanks for sharing the photos with us. Yama Mama:ice_awesome-vi46644
craigatcsi Posted October 8, 2009 #6 Posted October 8, 2009 That is really a good looking first Gen.. Looking at it from the side, don't the first generations kinda look like the 'sport tourer's' that they are coming out with now? It kinda looks like it is moving when sitting still. craigr
RandyR Posted October 8, 2009 #7 Posted October 8, 2009 Looks like a good 2-bike combo. There are a couple other KLR owners on this forum as well. So. Tell us more about Goldie. She's a well taken care of ride, it would appear. How many miles? Are you the origonal owner?
Grandpagak Posted October 8, 2009 #8 Posted October 8, 2009 it looks great!! like its brand spankin new.. good woork...
Wizard765 Posted October 8, 2009 #9 Posted October 8, 2009 Goldie looks Awsome... I'm just wondering if there is any other safety chrome you COULD get for her... She is pretty loaded up...
1sttenor Posted October 8, 2009 #10 Posted October 8, 2009 What an old junker! Seriously, thats a nice ride. I bet you get people coming up to asking if its new.
Goldie Posted October 8, 2009 Author #11 Posted October 8, 2009 Wow, thanks for all the nice comments! The bike "Godie" has 41,000 miles on her and I do have a few other pieces that are not currently installed on it. I have the drivers back rest with the zipped wraps that go on the chrome bars and a pair of chrome front caliper covers that are not installed on it. I've read that the caliper covers can make the brakes overheat and I decided that they should stay off the bike for the time being. I'm not the original owner and have had it for a short time. After cleaning it up, I realized how great the shape of the bike is. Most people at work and people that ask say that it's probably between an 04 and 07, they are shocked to hear that it's 26 years old!
hig4s Posted October 8, 2009 #12 Posted October 8, 2009 You certainly must have spent many sleepless nights coming up with names for the bikes. HEY,, I named my 07 Blue!!!

Snaggletooth Posted October 9, 2009 #16 Posted October 9, 2009 Goldie looks pretty sharp. Somehow it looks vaugely familiar. Oh yeah! It's like mine but with more chrome! Man that must throw a glare on a sunny day. Mike
Zfrebird4 Posted October 19, 2009 #17 Posted October 19, 2009 Love your sense of humor, the green for something different from 'Goldie.' My 86 VR looks like she is panting to be ridden when parked! I've put 23,000 on her since she came to me through some Venture rider friends. I am slightly the elder, at 70 with two new knees. Ride safe, stay happy and live long! Condor Posted December 16, 2009 #23 Posted December 16, 2009 Ya know I hate to rain on anybody's parade, and 'Goldie' is a nice looking bike, but how about popping $12 bucks to support the board?? You're listed as an 'expired trial member'. I thought 'trial' members didn't have posting privileges, but if wrong and even 'expired' trial's do, what gives???? Any moderator care to comment??
dingy Posted December 16, 2009 #24 Posted December 16, 2009 Not a moderator, but The OP hasn't posted since 10/8 Gary

Jack, He didn't use our photo software to post his pics, it's from photobucket or something along that lines. It is a remote image and will be here no matter what. As a trial member you do have posting privilege, once it expires you dont
