CTrider Posted October 7, 2009 #1 Posted October 7, 2009 rear end lowering kit installed... could I still add a trike kit? If needed in the future? My concern would be ground clearance? My ankle is slowly deteriorating after a couple of surgeries.
CTrider Posted October 13, 2009 Author #2 Posted October 13, 2009 I was hoping for a couple of responses?
SteveW Posted October 13, 2009 #3 Posted October 13, 2009 depending on how hard you ride in the twisties you will probably drag you pipes. Have you checked into lowering your seat height ? The butler mod has worked for many. You could always reset the bike to original specks if you wanted to trike it in the future,
FreezyRider Posted October 13, 2009 #4 Posted October 13, 2009 I didn't see this earlier, but my opinion is that you could still have it triked. The rear lowering kit can be easily returned to stock if necessary, and many who trike their bikes have a rake kit added to the front to help with easier steering. If that happens, the fork tubes would be returned to stock position anyway. Joe
GunnyButch Posted October 14, 2009 #5 Posted October 14, 2009 The EZ Steer on my Hannigan conversion lowered the front slightly. As for the rear lowering kit doesn't that mount on rear shock? If so Hannigan doesn't use the rear shock or swingarm at all so that should not be a problem.
Jerry W Posted October 14, 2009 #6 Posted October 14, 2009 rear end lowering kit installed... could I still add a trike kit? If needed in the future? My concern would be ground clearance? My ankle is slowly deteriorating after a couple of surgeries. I have my RSV lowered front and rear with no problems. I have no problem with clearance, I just added some air to the rear shock. If you are adding a "Voyager" type kit it should be no problem.
