KarlS Posted October 6, 2009 #1 Posted October 6, 2009 Got a call from Neurosurgeon and back surgery scheduled for November 2nd. So getting bike put up and everything else in order best I can to be ready. Will be in hospital 5-10 days and then months of wearing a huge fiberglass brace. Brace makes you feel like a fool it's so big you have to wear it over your clothes with only sweat pants and tee shirt under it. Will have to quit eating to pay all the co-pays. Seems anyone that sticks their head in the door and asks "how you doing" sends you a bill. Enough of this wish me luck.
distancerider Posted October 6, 2009 #2 Posted October 6, 2009 Thoughts and prayers are with you. I know it will go well.
1BigDog Posted October 6, 2009 #3 Posted October 6, 2009 "How you doin"?...ok send the bill payment to......:mo money: Karl, good luck on your surgery. Hope it all goes well and your back (no pun) to normal soon. Will keep you in our prayers.
Squidley Posted October 6, 2009 #4 Posted October 6, 2009 All the best my friend, we'll be anxious to hear how it all turns out
eagleeye Posted October 6, 2009 #5 Posted October 6, 2009 Hey, the best of luck to you! Hope the healing goes fast. Know what you mean about the co-pays, blink and they want a co-pay. Just went in this aft to see a surgeon, finger clicks when it should roll smooth, something about a pivot point. outpaient surgery. I'll do it during the week in case we have a nice weekend and I'd want to be riding. Steve
autopilot Posted October 7, 2009 #6 Posted October 7, 2009 Best wishes on the surgery. Will say a prayer for ya! ...Fiberglass....that's kinda like plastic.....Ya know, you could put Venture graphics on that thing, airbrush a headlight on the front.......Hmmmmm! It could work. You could definitely have some fun with that (after a few weeks of healing time)
gunboat Posted October 7, 2009 #7 Posted October 7, 2009 i wish you luck and a speedy recovery. yep everyone who sticks their head in the door wants their piece of the pie. don c.
Aussie Annie Posted October 7, 2009 #8 Posted October 7, 2009 All the best for the surgery. I like the idea of painting the fibreglass cast -- might as well have some fun. If they are going to stare at you, might as well give 'em a show
kenw Posted October 7, 2009 #9 Posted October 7, 2009 Good luck! We'll be out here praying for you and you'll be in our thoughts. Please keep us informed!
KarlS Posted October 7, 2009 Author #10 Posted October 7, 2009 Thanks for all the kind words. Painting it? Not a bad idea. Might take it to my friend that owns a body shop. Look and feel stupid wearing it anyways, might as well go all the way.
Sweetnothing Posted October 7, 2009 #11 Posted October 7, 2009 Karl, I wish we were gonna be here for your surgery. We would stop by and check on you. But we will keep you in our thoughts and prayers for a good out come!! Please let us know how things turn out!!
