Color is Teal Blue Metallic from 2002 Chevy. dingy Posted October 5, 2009 #4 Posted October 5, 2009 What did you do with pin stripping? Hand sand down or chemical? Gary
nickle Posted October 5, 2009 #5 Posted October 5, 2009 i did hand sanding let pin striping off. had to ground plastic to paint though. static . did some buffing too . so put on three coats of clear
elag Posted October 5, 2009 Author #6 Posted October 5, 2009 Peeled pinstrip off. Paint thinner to remove the glue. Then hand sand. 3 base coats, 3 clear. Will be putting new pinstrip on (thinking white) in same place as origional.
dksmith196958 Posted October 5, 2009 #7 Posted October 5, 2009 looks good . ! ! the pin stripes will set it off . you can get a hand roler for pin stripes it really helps if the funds come thru i have a guy that would paint and re pin stripe my bike like newhe said he can make it look like it is factoryonly the pin stripes will be in the paintsaid he can trace them on paper before doing any body work and lay them on before the clear coat .....but no stickers... maybe no emblems , havent desided on that yet ? ?
painterman67 Posted October 5, 2009 #8 Posted October 5, 2009 that shure is a purdy blue. Me I been thinking of putting on a fresh coat of pearl white. Who knows. David
elag Posted October 5, 2009 Author #9 Posted October 5, 2009 I saw white on a couple of 86 to 93 models and it looks awsome. I thought about it for mine but decided against it because of the shape of the saddle bags. Don't think it would look as good on an 83 to 85. Your 91 will look great with white.

Keep the emblems. I saw a few on kijiji and autotrader that have been repainted without the emblems. They look better with them on. Of course it is personal preference. Your best bet is to search the internet for pictures and decide from there. Edited October 5, 2009 by elag
